And your example article is from the New York Times?
Hasn't it become clear that places like the NYT are total mouthpieces for the (non-Trump) state. Perfectly willing to outright lie and censor at command.
Funny thing is, per the west, Russia/Putin are somehow simultaneously the smartest, most powerful enemies ever and the weakest and most stupid. The Russian military hasn't been able to defeat a bunch of goatherders after 20 years (wait, that was someone else) and yet if Ukraine falls the rest of Europe is going down like dominoes. Putin is crafty enough that a thousand dollars spent on Facebook ads can steal Hillary's rightful presidency away and yet he will nuke Moscow in a fit of spit.
Looking at the situation at the moment, I don't think Russia is unhappy at all at the way things are going.
Politically/Economically: (Most of) NATO is fully on the US's side but really no one else. Everyone else is basically doing what is best for themselves economically and Russia, at this point, actually has more to offer than the US and Europe.
Two examples. In Asia, the two biggest countries in the world, India and China, are quite happy to take Russia's oil and export to them whatever they want. You have India, that is looking to up their manufacturing and diminish China's and would love to develop a long term trade relationship. So you have the two biggest countries in the world, and big rivals, in competition for the imports/exports of Russia.
In the middle east, the Saudi Arabian ruler obviously hates Biden's guts, and yet, despite Russia's friendliness with Iran, their big rival, will work with Russia.
This means, essentially, that you can forget oil prices ever getting too low. On the supply side you have the western world doing its best to prevent any new supply coming on line and you have the two largest exporters willing to work together. On the demand side, it is obvious that replacing oil with solar and wind is a fantasy.
So long term, if things continue as they are, Russia has multiple import sources of what they need and has their export prices under control.
As far as the war. Initial goals seem to have been to annex the Russian speaking parts of Ukraine and demilitarize the Ukrainian speaking parts. They seem on track to do that. They have officially annexed and are mostly occupying the Russian parts, and de-energizing and de-populating the Ukrainian part (as well as draining NATO arms supplies), would work for demilitarization.

10 months into a 3 day war, 1500 tanks lost or destroyed, the Moskva at the bottom of the Black Sea, and 70,000+ Russians dead or wounded, and you don't think Russia is unhappy with how things are going? You should check out the talking heads on Russian media who are VERY unhappy with how things are going for Russia. Not to mention that Russia has lost territory over the last 9 months and had their military exposed as a complete paper tiger. Yup. Things are going great for Russia!

India is buying Russian oil at a $40 / barrel discount. It's not clear that it's even profitable for Russia to sell at that price.

Ukraine has a stronger military now than at any point in last 30 years, so much for demilitarization. Russia doesn't even control the territory they claim to have annexed, and every passing week the control less of it. The most advanced Russian weapons are barely draining NATO hand-me-downs, while Russian arms are being depleted (no, they can't replace them. How many T-14s are they using in Ukraine? Oh, zero.). Finally NATO is expanding to include Finland and Sweden - bringing NATO closer to the Russian border, Ukraine is going to be in the EU and NATO sooner than if Russia did nothing.
This has been an absolute embarrassment for the Russian military, and in another year they'll be lucky to be using bows and arrows.

Do you tinfoil trolls even have access to basic information about this war? Ukraine has reclaimed 54% of the occupied areas from the Russians, most of it in recent months, amounting to many thousands of square kilometers. Even the Russians acknowledge this failure, but the LRC trolls? "They (Russians) seem to be on track". Blithering idiocy.

We all know that 1 Ukrainian is worth 10 Russians on the battlefield, or anywhere else.
And yet....Russia is occupying almost all the territory they were interested in (I'm sure they'd love to get Odessa) and the rest of Ukraine is being destroyed and depopulated.
How does it go? Another such victory and we are undone.
As always, the metaphor is over your head Carmine9.
Why don't you explain what we can learn about the Ukraine War from a pic of Fonzi water skiing?
That the MSM BS coverage of the war has finally jumped the shark?
Citing Putin on Russia's trade situation is like quoting Biden about his cognitive condition. It is now pretty clear that you share the latter with President Brandon. Best case scenario, you are posting drunk and might be able to sober up at some future date.

Oh, a Ukrainian is worth far more than 10 Russians.
Yes, but Russia is losing territory week-by-week. So while there was a time when they may have occupied most the territory you think they were interested in, they occupy less and less of it as time goes on. At what point do they admit that they're losing? When Russia no longer occupies Moscow?
Also, I noticed you didn't dispute any of the other points I made. I'll take that to mean that you now realize that this war is NOT going the way Russia intended.
Russia is both the biggest, most evil threat doing massive criminal damag....but simultaneously, completely inept and getting its butt kicked.
The low brows buy it lock, stock, and barrel
Classic Carmine idiocy. Unable to comprehend how Russia is doing massive damage to CIVILIAN infrastructure, but their front line forces are entirely inept and getting pushed out of city after city.
Did you see the video of Ukrainian cluster munitions decimating a Russian position near Bakhmut? Drone footage after the strike was pretty horrific - more than a dozen dead Russian soldiers in a ditch. I guess their families can thank Putin for the early Christmas present.

The blue areas are regained Ukraine, pink is held by Russian invaders. This is what is known as a FACT IN EVIDENCE.
To make things even MORE depressing for the pro-Russian trolls, much of the pink region was claimed by Russia (e.g., Crimea) or LNR/DNR separatists forces prior to Feb. 24th. So, Russia hasn't even gained the entire pink region in the last 10 months... it's more like the last 8+ years.
Why is US sending all this money to Ukraine. Let Russia have this country. Since we walked away from our Baghram Air Base, we can't help them....thanks to Biden's stupidity. It's all over...we need to money to protect our Southern border from the surge taking place there.
If you weren't already aware of how evil the Russians...not just Putin, but the foot soldiers, it is coming to light that we have discovered TORTURE CHAMBERS FOR CHILDREN in liberated Kherson.
Get ready for American advisors, boots on the ground, to help with Patriot missile Systems to give Ukraine relief from the rain of war crimes against their citizens.
At the onset of the Ukraine War, the Americans laid out 3 criteria for providing weapons to the Ukrainians: it must be a weapon system not critical to US def...

You realize that most of the money that you claim to the US is sending to Ukraine is actually being paid to US defense contractors to pay American workers to build weapons in the US, right? Oh. You don't even know that. Maybe spend 30 seconds doing some research before you open your fat yapper and demonstrate your lack of intelligence.
Didn't Trump already get Mexico to build a wall to keep out all the illegals? Or was he too busy golfing and tweeting for 4 years?
