This is how to read his post. … His attempt to "clarify" his abuse is a clear sign of pretending the abuse did not happen. It did. Rather than working to correct his abusive behavior he is justifying that he can continue to do it.

I watched a bit of ABC's Good Morning America today and I'm done with Meet the Press for this election cycle.

They could have done this at a different time or night.

Trump just wanted to scoop some viewers from Biden and NBC complied.

We will see if Sally has any self esteem at all to be able to admit he didn't know what that word meant. I'm thinking he won't admit it. He's a fool either way, but he has a chance to gain back some respect if he admits he didn't know what that word meant. A tough go for him, because admitting it does reinforce the obvious which is that he's an idiot. Better to be an idiot and know it though than to be someone who berates his wife.

And Sally, if you do admit to not knowing what this word meant, it has to be a full confession. Can't be something like "To get you off my back, I will admit it", or anything like that. Full admission of ignorance is accepted only.

I'm not happy about it. It seems like a very odd choice by NBC. The thing is that there will be a ratings thing going on, and Trump will probably win that against Biden. BUT, it has nothing to do with people liking him more. There are two main reasons why more people are likely to tune in to hear Trump than Biden at this stage:

1) Trump is the current President. Either for him or against him, it is important to know what he says. The vast majority of voters have made up their minds already.

2) Trump is a train wreck. People want to gawk at a train wreck. The fact is that Trump's presidency is historic...historically bad. People want to witness it first-hand.

I haven't thought about it in a while, but leading up to the 2016 election there was a lot of suspicion that NBC wanted Trump to win because they thought it would boost the popularity of "The Apprentice" franchise. Things like having Trump host SNL in 2015, giving him more news coverage, etc. If true, their decision about the town hall would be logical.
