The first amendment broadly protects speech from the government, so federal officials and lawmakers, police officers, schools ect... The first amendment does not and will never apply to private actors.

Twitter is a private website, they are allowed to moderate there site as they see fit. This includes removing hate speech and disinformation.

The NYPost and the WH Press Secretary are trying to spread Russian propoganda. Twitter is allowed to and has decided to step in and not allow there platform to be used as a source of disinformation by them.

This moderation is completely legal. In fact the government attempting to regulate the ability of a private corporation to moderate their platform would likely constitute a violation of the first amendment.
