One problem for the GOP currently is that they cannot escape the virus and get it out of the news cycle. We spent last weekend and about 10 days talking about the WH outbreak at a most crucial time moving towards the election. The POTUS spent a good deal of that time making himself look anything but Presidential....other than having access to a military helicopter to get him to the hospital.

The sports world...in particular the NFL....has been in the news with positive cases, games being moved around, postponed and potentially cancelled.

Cases are starting to increase across the country again and with the typical acceleration of those cases, it's going to get worse over the next two weeks. So, in the week before the election, cases will again be at the forefront of the news cycle and talk of a "2nd wave" will be thrown around all over the place with the likely exception of FoxNews.

None of this bodes well for the POTUS.

You get all your news from the left wing PMSNBC, CNN, dem poll readers like Silver & Cohn (NYTimes). You are completely ignoring the metrics which I have listed several times.

Trump will flip MN due to the Iron Range support (you will hear about this on election night, but you heard it here from me, first). Cankles barely won NH in 2016, Trump will flip it this time. FL has becone redder due to voter registration trends and Trump will have a larger margin of victory this month. PA will be an embarrassment for Dementia Joe, voter registrations have gone to Trump too.

I am very confident of a Trump victory as your candidate cannot generate any enthusiasm.

You are more than just a moron. You are delusional. Trump already won the Iron Range in 2016, and he still lost MN. There aren't enough extra votes there to help him overcome the rest of the state. Biden is leading there by over 9 points. Biden is also leading in NH by 9 points and by 12 in a recent poll. Biden is up over 7 points in PA, and that's an average that includes older polls. More recent polling has him up by more than that.

Trends are all going toward Biden. The gaps are getting bigger for him.

First of all I will reiterate, I am not a trump fan. i'd vote for a card board box ahead of him. He is and always has been a con man. He is a fairly good con man though...

And to clarify why I think he will win... he will lose the general election by a substantial margin ... potentially a landslide... however, I do not feel comfortable with the margin of error in the key battle ground states. It is simply too close for me to feel comfortable. I fear the shy trump voter.

538 shows Biden at 85% and trump at 15% ... 15% is still a chance... almost as good as rolling a 7 with 2 dice... which can and does happen. he could cheat too but i don't feel that is too likely

i hope I am wrong because trump is bad for america...

one thing i feel is inevitable, no matter who wins, there will be some amount of rioting, which is also bad for america... history will show this to be a particularly bad period ... hopefully not the end of our democracy.

I think it is just as likely that there are shy and newly formed anti trumpers. I've been in groups, since I live in Trump country, in which they'll be 10 people with one or two loudmouth Trump supporters who everyone either goes along with or remains silent....which includes me to keep the peace (or I'll just walk away). Within those groups there are typically at least a few who have indicated to me or my wife that they either won't vote at all because of Trump or will vote for Biden which is essentially the same thing. Trump is losing votes at the very least and some of them are turning into Biden votes.

Ja, and I'd add that the story of 2020 is going to be:

1) The gender divide. Women are lost to trump - massively.

2) Age 65+ is now lost to trump. This is startling and utterly amazing. How incompetent does a R president have to be to lose white senior citizens? They were the bulwark of the R electorate .

3) There aren't many undecideds left. In 2016 there were many 'I hate them both' people who decided at the last minute to go with Spanks. That messed up the polling. That's not happening this year - hardly anyone is still deciding.

All that is terrible for Trump and great for Joe. Gives us reasons to think polling is predictive of the final result.

Okay. Technically this may be true: The enthusiasm is being generated more by Donald Trump than by Joe Biden; and people are enthusiastically voting to get Trump out.

Personally, I'm one of the people who think this election is going to be a nailbiter. I doubt that either candidate will get 300 electoral votes, and I think Donald Trump has a very solid chance to be re-elected.

But to say there's "no enthusiasm" among the people who are voting for Biden is ridiculous. They are *tremendously* enthusiastic about deposing Trump; the onlly question is whether the people who are tremendously enthusiastic *for* Trump will have the numbers to win some key states.

And that is something that *no one* knows at this point.

The only nail biting part of the election will be how election officials handle the tens of millions of Biden votes in envelopes in hand before Nov 3rd.
