I think he reads other people's posts as often as Trump reads PDB.

Let her be confirmed 47-0.
There has to be quorum (over 50%). At least 51 votes are required in the Senate. The only way to get below 51 is of there are fewer than 100 members. A quorum would be 50 votes if one senate seat was vacant. Pence is not considered for the quorum requirement ... senators only.
Mitch will change the rules to allow voting remotely and they will have the 51 votes. I don’t see how they miss this.

Kavanaugh was confirmed with only 50 votes and no vacancies.

Trump had to step off the White House stage (balcony) after just 18 minutes of his illegal political rally on the White House lawn. That does not bode well for him in his personal war with COVID. The lingering effects are yet to come. Yes, it can get worse.
Considering the tortuously long speeches he's given in the past even during some of his whater were supposed ot be press conferences, this is a bad sign for the Prez. The press should hound him about it and, in his typical fashion, he'll go out of his way to attempt to prove everyone wrong. Collapsing on stage would be un-Presidential but so are a lot of other things he does.
He just stopped the steroid treatment so doctors will be watching him the next few days closely. Not surprised about the 18min rally, he'll probably feel worse for a while before he starts feeling better.

You libs continue to disbelieve the reality. I will be proven right on election night and you will still make excuses for ? poll reader Silver.
I will be right on election night. Your candidate will lose.
Accept it.
Enjoy your loss.

You keep repeating this but keep refusing FREE GUARANTEED money: how much are you willing to bet Trump will win? Money goes into escrow, and is donated to the charity or your choosing. Free money! (plus invaluable bragging rights!)It doesn't have to be a large amount, we can do $5k or $10k?

And who created that rule?
The majority creates the rules. Since Democrats are not in the majority, they can't insist on squat.

It's not an excuse. It's called math.

You do not understand the quorum. Business cannot be conducted without a quorum present. (This rule applies to a LOT more entities than the Senate.) More than 50 senators cast votes so the quorum was met and business can be conducted.

It is possible the Roid treatment was only reduced to a low enough level to allow him to speak with some stability, for as long as possible. That experiment means he can go ~15 minutes of being watched by a rally crowd before needed help. Do not expect any more rallies now that Trumo's time limit is known. He will be back on full drug treatment once he gives up pretending he is not very ill.

I think it's correct that Mitch would change the rules to allow remote participation.
But it would be interesting to see how quorum busting would play out. The sergeant at arms is authorized to round up senators and bring them to the floor by force. This actually happened as recently as 1988. Senator Robert Packwood was carried into the chamber feet first.

McConnell cannot just change the quorum rule. That is in the constitution. I don't think the constitution requirement in person voting. He could try to change that but he has rejected all calls by democrats to allow remote voting during the pandemic. Something about breaking long standing rules.
The Kavanugh vote was interesting because there were 100 active Senators. One was missing in action ... a yes vote that could not be cast or counted which means it is essentially a no vote. What allowed 50 yes votes to approve Kavanugh was Murkowski voting present. She did not count at all. That made the percentage requirement 99 rather than 100. The McConnell nuclear requirement might still likely requires a minimum of 50 yes votes for a SCOTUS. I cannot see him allowing 51 senators to show up with 26 voting yes and 25 voting no on anything. That would be rather extreme.

Ok
You’re saying if 3 R senators are out with covid and all 47 D Senators refuse to show up, they can’t hold a confirmation vote with only 50 senators present.
Is that right?
Sure, the guy who pays Trump's enablers millions of dollars and allows them to continue cheering on Trump's cruelty. If only young Murdock would muzzle his talking heads until after the election is decide. Won't happen.

90% of blacks will vote Biden, so Trump organizes a covid super spreader event geared toward people of color so they go back into their communities and families and spread covid all over. His thinking is that maybe some will be too sick to vote.........diabolical!
(Biden is well ahead, so I can have some fun)

He's coming to Sanford Florida Monday (I think). It's at the airport and could be a shortened speech as well.
