Call me strange but I do (actually turn up and complete) lots of races but I don't publicise what I am going to run before, during or after. Presumably by your logic, I'm not "going for it".
An impartial observer (which you clearly aren't) would want to see some evidence to back up the hype.
I think she should move up in distance. The 10 mile is not an Olympic event. The marathon is where she should focus.

Too late for that. Needs to focus on 10k now.
Sorry I'm late to the left...are you telling me this idiot has never run a race of any kind??? And the only reason she didn't run this race and set a record is because of coincidental family tragedies the day before the event?
I would absolutely love to know more about these people's personal lives. To what extent do they lie to their families, friends, bosses, etc.

She can't now. Has been in the testing pool within the required amount of time.

McMillan calculator says she's capable of sub 31 for 10k, but given the difficulty of the course, probably much, much faster than that. How many women in the US are capable of sub 31 right now?
probably just Molly Huddle...i just don't see JG beating Molly Huddle, at anything.
Wejo and Rojo: it's time.
Put up a prize purse for Jill to target, find a USATF certified course, hire a college kid to Periscope it from a golf cart, and put on a race for Jill to break the record.
This could be a defining moment for the website, no?
And hell! Have Lawlor fly out for the pre-race entertainment: 400m: 46s, 800m: 1:48, mile: 3:45
Have we forgotten that there is actual video of her running? It was shot from a grassy knoll.
Lawloriot can pace them through 5k. I think Molly Huddle is at a disadvantage in this race because of the unknown factor. No one knows whether JG is an even pacer, negative splitter, or a kicker. Molly needs to just go and not risk JG potential kick. I would caution Molly not to take this race and make JG earn her way to such a race.
It is like in the Black Stallion when they had the match race and the Black wore a mask and no one knew how fast he was and that he had heart and guts.
JG could be like the Black Stallion
She isn't black though is she? Or a stallion? Sooner or later letsrun had to play the race and gender cards.
Just let her run and enjoy running.

No video but a picture was posted on page 18 of this thread. Last post on the page.

I'm the guy who took those pictures of Jill a couple years ago. She was just starting with the running and I never thought I would see something about her competing. I obviously don't live in Pa but would love to get ahold of her and take some current pictures.
Nine years ago I helped the local Chamber of Commerce revive a local road race. We were a great team and were able to put on a well organized race for the community. We worked extra hard to keep costs down to keep the race entry low. Each year the profit grew that we were able to distribute to local charities. Our only personal motivation was to put on a race that we were proud of. Every year was drama free til a woman looking to gain money for her rather questionable "non profit" business stepped in.
When a local event is popular and profitable the inevitable always happens as a manipulative jerk looking for personal gain hijacks it. Those nice people that put on races and community events just to be nice people are no match for manipulative jerks. Things get weird with personal attacks and cultivated drama and in the end most nice people will just step away rather than fight as it is just not worth it.
This was my own personal experience but I have seen it happen in many other non profit situations. I have no idea what is going on in Quakertown but that is my guess.

Jill Greathouse works for, and according to the RD is coached by Austin Sedicum, who became the sponsor for the Quakertown race this year. So it's fair to assume that this is some scheme by Sedicum and not originated by Jill. We might think Bob the RD is just a dupe in this, but Bob is a running buddy of Sedicum to some degree (they traveled to the same race out of state a couple weeks ago), and Bob claims that he saw Jill's GPS data.
Both Bob and Sedicum were given many chances to back down or to give a wink or use language that gave them an out, but they doubled down on it insisting it was real and insulting anyone who questioned it. Rotary is a legit organization with a solid reputation, so why would they tarnish Rotary with an unfunny hoax? Obviously no one is going to sue or prosecute, but it is technically fraud if they tried to get people to register by advertising a false record attempt.
I was a little afraid Jill would be forced out there by her boss and they'd humiliate her.
I still don't know the punch line or what their angle was.
Manipulative jerks are amazing spin doctors. People that get sucked tend to really have a hard time trying to explain the insanity that is cultivated as the manipulative jerks are really good at making it look like those who call them out originated the drama. The more twisted and weird it gets the more it makes everyone look like an idiot. Manipulative jerks are really good at this in all areas of life.
This will be the final spin
Fastest female runner in U S. steps away from the sport as she doesn't want to subject her family to cyber bullies.
Perhaps an unintentional win for Rossi.

Sounds like the good doctor in this case, ably assisted by Bob and Jill.
