Even then, I wouldn't be surprised to see Mitch change the senate rules to allow proxy votes like they did in the House. I did hear that this would raise a constitutional question though. But I'm not sure what the commentator was referring to.

I was just going to mention that. Christian Conservatives have said many times in the past that God was punishing a certain group of people if they were overly affected (gay men and AIDS early on as an example).

No matter the results of the election this nominee will be approved whether it is stuffed in right before the election or held after the election. It's clear that nobody cares about optics.

With the virus affecting a number of participants and probably pushing at least another couple of weeks, it may be hard to get it done prior to the election considering they'd have to call the Senators off the campaign trail.
