COVID infected Trumpers are dropping like flies.
This time it is the RNC chair, Ronna McDaniel, who hasn't been near Trump since Friday last week. She tested positive on Wednesday, the same day as Hope Hicks did. Also of note is that Trump aids say he was experiencing symptoms on Wednesday as well.
https://twitter.com/maggieNYT/status/1312021288894988289Why wasn't he isolated and tested then?
Gross negligence.

And miss the chance to debate Biden and maybe pass along the disease?

I will throw this out there. I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but I do wonder if getting this virus can get him a sympathy vote, so there has to be a small chance that the Trumps and Hope Hicks made all this up. I would love for someone to talk me down from that...I might even admit it's a crazy thought.
To be clear, I don't THINK this is what they are doing, but I can't help but think there's a tiny tiny chance they are.
I think it’s more likely he’s showing symptoms and would be much worse if he tried to hide it. He also is going to get a nice pass from the next debate. There is no way he stands up there and has to listen to Biden say trump has put national security at risk by being so careless. On the other hand, trump could keep tweeting that he’s feeling fantastic, no symptoms and try to cement his claims that it’s just a flu and that he’s Superman.
I believe that you are right.

By the way, here is a scenario that I find eminently plausible:
Per the Constitution, DJT temporarily hands the presidency to Mike Pence.
As acting President, Pence pardons DJT for any and all federal crimes.
After a couple weeks, DJT says "all better!" and resumes the presidency, with federal prosecution no longer hanging over him.
Of course, NYS and NYC can still have at him...
Doesn't someone need to be indicted or convicted of something before they can be pardoned? Pence can't just give Trump a blanket, get out of jail free card.
Pence has aspirations of running for president and if he did give Trump a pardon, his political career would be over.

Ok I thought about this a bit more. I really hate the guy and think he is directly responsible for so much death and evil. So why don’t I wish death on him? Let just say I hold a more logical view. He’s about to go the Biff coward route and excuse himself from all the karma he needs to face before he leaves either the office or this earth. A COVID death or excuse to drop out would really serve this country another big Ice cold F U. We need him to pull through, get soundly beaten and rejected on Election Day, then face all the consequences of his crimes until his natural death. The last thing we need after he’s fkd us all so hard is to have him become a martyr or the obvious subject of another QAnon conspiracy theory. He will die, but it better not be before he loses.
Your logic is correct, but I submit that you don't wish death on him also because you are a good person.

INCORRECT!
Anyone who has paid attention the last few months knows this is false.
I take no joy in there being a chance that my prediction that Trump would not finish his first term will come true. However, I do hope he lives through this. I'd rather see him go to prison after he loses the election.
While I can't speak for Fat Hurts, I think the point he's making is that the inner circle of the White House does have a rigorous testing and screening protocol. I understand Trump and those coming in close contact are regularly tested (daily for Trump).
The flaw in all of this is that they are doing this on a low profile while eschewing highly visible precautions like masks and minimizing social contacts. That is they are taking the precautions they can to protect themselves while presenting a public image consistent with downplaying the threat. Eventually that had to fail and it seems it has.

NOOOOO! Ford gave Nixon a blanket pardon even though Nixon hadn't been charged with anything. Pence can do that.
The thing is, we can't trust anything that this president says or comes out of this White House.
So any news or statements from him does not get treated as if they came from a normal person.

Yep. Too many photos of Trump and his cohorts being together closely without masks, and that's just the beginning. He has set the tone that masks aren't needed, so without question his lackeys go about their day likely not being too concerned about wearing masks.

Gerald Ford gave Richard Nixon a blanket pardon. Nixon had not been indicted or convicted for anything. A POTUS absolutely has that pardoning power.
And yes, the pardon probably cost Gerald Ford the 1976 election. But there are still strong arguments that he did the right thing...a position that I notice more people have come to agree with over the course of decades.

If I were writing a script for the week, it might be fun to have the Supreme Court nominee test positive and isolate for a couple weeks to throw the confirmation process into chaos, but maybe the week has been too over the top already.

Blanket pardons are perfectly legal for past crimes. No indictment or conviction is required.
NYT is reporting that the president has symptoms.
We know have COVID positive republican senators, at least one so far, saying they will not isolate and plan to be in the senate floor to ram through COVID Amy CB. They only need her for a few months to overthrown the election.

This might derail the nomination. The senate needs to take up the COVID relief bill right now instead of working on scotus. Otherwise, this could decimate R's who are locked into some precarious senate races.
This thread has become more vile by the day. A huge , liberal circle jerk . Not surprising. I really hope that Biden doesn't contract and die from the virus because he definitely won't survive. The hatred you have for President Trump won't hurt him one bit, but will slowly kill you. Good luck in life.
