Bullshit, my dad NEVER ran 100mpw in training, most he did was about 80, most weeks around the 65 mark. But he ran 11:38 for 100 miles.
That there is 100 miles at sub 7 minute miles, or nearly 4 marathons at 3 hour pace back to back. Yet somehow running 3 marathons at an average of nearly 9 minute pace with loads of resting in between is supposed to be elite. Bollocks.
I am starting to think that people have zero comprehension of what elite performance actually is.

Kind of agree with this. Seems that with the MR offer you were really adding something to the discussion precisely because we did NOT have the kind of documentation we have here. I could be wrong, but like with MR, he continues to maintain his innocence. A challenge leaves them exposed as the liars they are.

Agreed, offering a challenge to prove a performance lets him attempt to say he didn't cheat after all, that's exactly what he wants.

discovered this list and had some good exchanges with people on here. I
don't know if my own JOGLE run counts as a journey run but although I am an
Englishman and it was for charity, there were no records or crowdfunding

Obviously you have never run anything close to that distance before. For ultra-runners, 78 miles in one consecutive 30 hour time period is easy. In shape hobby joggers have no problem running sub 24 hour 100 milers. Out of shape hobby joggers run sub 30 hour hundred milers on difficult trails. A 100 mile race doesn't get hard until the last 80 miles. Rob is more than fit enough to do 3 marathons within 30 hours. It isn't difficult.

Respect for Andy Persson and Coach Kev for their apologies and confessions. Not easy to do.
This makes Michael and Dustin look like complete fools for continuing to stand by their man. They pretty much threw their whole reputations down the drain by continuing to support a lying unemployed cheat.

Oh dear - looks like his 'longest run without sleep' was total BS too. I remember it being picked up earlier in this thread - there were a bunch of people in the early stages who were supposedly listed as running with Rob as support and for verification. Many of the names sounded fictitious; Andy seems to confirm this.
Andy and Kev were quite the vociferous double act for a while on this thread. Interesting that both have now folded... takes some guts to admit you f'ed up.

They probably think that admitting they were in on the scam from the beginning would be more damaging to their reputations. And I tend to agree.
Instead, deny there was a scam, make sure the press put it down to 'technical errors' and make sure they don't get caught out with Rob again. They'll shrug the whole thing off in a couple of weeks.

I disagree. The easier option is just to say nothing. Andy and Leg have publically admitted they were wrong. They both seem contrite and a bit embarrased by the affair. There's no point still being angry at these two - how about Michael and Dustin if you're going to get all riled up?

That post by Andy is very interesting as it pretty much confirms that the 'longest run without sleep' was not legit either, something we've long suspected.
But to have this directly from someone who paced part of his attempt is pretty damning stuff. I find it highly unlikely that someone who was part of a support team for a runner's long distance challenge would be unable to make contact with supposed support runners in the earlier parts of the run.
It's a shame you guys who are not in the UK are unable to access Rob's Facebook page anymore. This absolute gem from diehard fanboy Phil Turner appeared yesterday evening:
