I'm not a lawyer, but my understanding is that a felony tax evasion conviction would require establishing intent which is always difficult. Presuming the deduction is disallowed, my guess would be payment of back taxes, fees, and penalties but not incarceration.
I've said before that imprisoning a former president, no matter how richly it might be deserved (short of an obvious violent crime), could be a very bad precedent for democracy.
There will be no need to prosecute them. The lenders owed would be the ones to worry about and their collection methods are quite aggressive. Life inside the federal supermax penitentiary in Florence, CO with three squares a day would be preferable to a short existence of unrelenting fear on the outside.
