Is she a legit OT contender for 2028? She is obviously talented, if she can run 1:11/2:35 AND still be a med student.
Blogsnark mentioned her too re: the vo2 max issue.
No. She will be in residency soon and I don't think she is going to be able to maintain her extreme exercise program on top of 80 hour weeks. Residency is a complete different beast compared to med school.
Good point on residency and med school timing...I have several family members in the medical field. They said it was a nightmare that never ended.
Fairly sure he went to a boarding school... Also the accent is the dead giveaway that this is a complete lie.
Middle class is quite a broad spectrum in the UK tbf. So he could quite possibly be middle class if you buy into all that stuff.
It also seems to have less to do with cash than caste. There's plenty of relatively poor upper class people in Britain. The British class system operates by its own subtle, unwritten rules. It’s opaque, highly coded, and often impenetrable to outsiders.
I know a self-made billionaire who was turned away from a very traditional golf club because they didn't want his nouveau-riche type around.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor on letsrun? Maybe all this time him and The Stein were just scouting for a Sam Ruthe esc phenom?
All jokes aside I am going to need to get a weekly milage check for the royal nonce himself
I know he has already been mentioned before but I genuinely think this guy is the worst running influencer out there, even worse than moc Goddard.
He is almost flexing that he’s had a (unconfirmed) stress fracture and just comes out with the most ridiculous statements about training. How this guy is charging people to coach them is beyond me and the recent post shows some pretty average progressions I.e. a couple of seconds off an average 5/10k time.

I just struggle to believe that Goddard is anything but a southern middle class bloke. He went to Bournemouth uni ffs.

He went to a private School where the fees are £67k a year for borders. So, yes, I'd say he's very middle class. Odd, after all that investment in Education, he ended up doing a dossy media studies degree -- in itself, this is probably a privilege of rich kids .

Thanks for the shoutout. I'm new to Letsrun but it seems like a friendly community.
Funny you should ask, I recently signed up to Strava. I used to send my coach weekly mileage via Email but sadly he's no longer with us. I'm closing in on local legend status at my new digs; granted they're smaller but gotta take the dub. My cause has certainly been helped since William stopped his silly e-scooter rides and claiming them as runs.
Not looking forward to the summer mind you, will struggle to stay cool without perspiration.

Surely being able to waste 67k a year on schooling is not middle class. The geezer probably had a pony growing up

67k per year? middle class? part of the artisocracy more like.

You should start a YT channel and document your running. You came across really honest and genuine in your interview with Emily Maitlis - people lap up authenticity in the content creators.

Anyway, let's show love to some working class running YouTubers like Matt Haslam. Too many poshos in the scene

Does feel like the balance is tilted towards people with a bit of money already behind them. Think Matt Fox was from similarish stock, going to private school with Freddie Ovett? Some level of privilege anyway.
Shout out to the more (subjectively) normal ones: FOD runner, Two Running Brooms, Cole Gibbens, FENTON, Marm, Ryan Thompson, Welsh Runner, plenty of others

Tbf I think people look down on media studies and the social media landscape as an industry but he's making a decent living off of pretty little effort on his part.
Having the safety net of rich parents obviously a big help in case it fails - but there's definitely a tidy living for anyone who understands what they're doing (marketing themselves not running - pretty clear you don't need to have a deep understanding of that)
Might be being precious about it but the undertone of Mary McCarthys have you met the one real just seems to be a haha maybe I'm gay joke, where she's like don't worry mum I'm not I'm good really.
Just feels like there's a whiff of homophobia with it. Don't think being interested in same sex partnerships is something to make jokes about
I think I’ve seen it all now…. Fordy Runs goes to the golf range and basically tries to justify hitting balls as cross training
"I'm not looking for excuses, but that surface out there and coming back was dangerous. And the shoes I was wearing" - Fordy Runs, there absolutely not making an excuse, but it's was surface's fault.
