Trump's response to the New York Times tax story, has been a contradictory mixture of claiming the report is false while also insisting the information used to prepare it was obtained illegally.

What's the point of obtaining information illegally if you can just write a false report?

I'm not a lawyer, but my understanding is that a felony tax evasion conviction would require establishing intent which is always difficult. Presuming the deduction is disallowed, my guess would be payment of back taxes, fees, and penalties but not incarceration.

I've said before that imprisoning a former president, no matter how richly it might be deserved (short of an obvious violent crime), could be a very bad precedent for democracy.

Trump used to run to the courts crying defamation every time someone pooh poohed him. He stopped doing that when he kept losing. Why? Because truth is a defense. We won’t sue this time either.

Try again, the GOP openly refused to have anything to do with coming up with a plan or molding the ACA, except obstructing. Obama must have said it a million times, welcoming them to come up with a better idea. Of course you didn’t hear it on FOX.

Also when you sue someone you have to testify under oath at a deposition. It seems that Trump has developed some sort of an allergy to testifying under oath.

Don't need to read the story to know that. The m@ga-babies will settle down after the initial shock though. They've got their supreme court. The lower courts are packed. The gun rights are secured.

I'm actually more afraid of the liberals. If the president antichrist refuses to leave office after a narrow Biden win, we are in even bigger trouble. I could see 10 million liberals descending on Washington, DC. And the president will kill them in the streets.

That will lead us to civil war.
