Can anyone recommend some good British Pakistani or Bangladeshi running YouTubers (other than Donato as he's not to my taste)? I feel there's not much representation from that demographic, particularly as most UK running YouTubers come from the West Midlands, so you'd think there'd be more.
While I don't disagree that trips to Kenya are counter-productive to their training, I think the rhetoric that they don't know how to train at all and are idiots is off the mark. Bester has run a sub 2:20 marathon. How many runners ever achieve that, let alone when they are over 6 foot and 70kg? Ben has run a sub 2:25 marathon, which is another impressive time, and I wouldn't be surprised if he breaks 2:20 in the next few years.
How much runners get the opportunity to train for a living to help them achieve those times?
No doubt it helps but if you gave all runners the opportunity to live and train like a pro, hardly any are breaking 2:20. I don't regularly watch either of their channels, and I can't stand Bester, but they're clearly training well enough. They aren't making the Olympics so why not try different things, or do some runs that are more interesting for content? That is their job after all.
Running isn't a sport like cycling or triathlon that requires crazy amounts of time. Unless you go for the RTJ approach, 12-15 hours a week is probably going to be about the sweet spot. Many of us do that even with a full time job. I would like to add in some more recovery work, maybe a couple altitude camps a year, but I don't see those additions knocking significant amounts of time off my PBs.
The difference is jealousy. No one here actually wants to be Bester, Fenton, Floberg, etc. They’re all weird try hards who may (or may not) run a little faster than you and their lives don’t seem very appealing at all.
But these female influencers are having a different (much more glamorous) life than the aforementioned male shoetubing bumblers. They’re young, get a lot of free gear, and sometimes flown around to events and are all conveniently attractive (which is mostly how they gained followings on Instagram or TikTok in the first place). The running is totally secondary.
If you think Elizabeth Cor is attractive, you need to go to Specsavers. The face. Please look at the face.
Not going to comment on her appearance, as I feel that is off limits, but I get the sense that Greg is a chill guy and has a lot of patience with her. She's an older woman too (she's said so on one of her reels a few months ago, I think it was one about her birthday), and probably runs the relationship. To her credit it appears she and Greg work well together...he does decent videography actually. He has run a few marathons and I think is only a few minutes slower than her (her PR is 3:14:xx and his is around 3:17:xx). Both have great jobs--marketing and defense--DINKs, and they are set for life.
Good to see FOD runner get a place on Puma Project 3 - didn't realise it was every single race run in Puma for last 15 months! (except the Linda Franks 5 recently...think that's the only disappointing race I can remember?)
Hard to think of anyone who has done stronger marketing than that, good luck with getting 2:35. Am guessing it might be DNE4 over FR3 on race day given the latter was ruled out for marathons before?
OMTIU said he was "Still gathering evidence" on Ben Parker 4 days ago.
Not sure how much more evidence they need, if it isn't called out in the next few days then you can just assume that its Goddard alt account that hes using to try and woo Hugo Fry to elope with him.
This theory seems wild but at this at this rate could be true 😂
Is there an equivalent of OMTIU for shorter distances? I unsubscribed from This Messy Happy a couple of years ago as they claimed Mary had ran a sub 40 10k when her official time was over 40 mins...
New social media darling and female OTQer Felicia Pasadyn has a new instagram post telling others how they can improve their VO2Max. She must know what she's talking about because she boasts a "lab-tested" VO2Max of 86.5 (lol)
I have just realised Ben Parker and Ben Parkes are different people. This is too confusing. These two need to battle it out via some form of deathmatch. Can't even refer to one as 'posh ben' as they are both posh.
I feel so seen with this post! I was familiar with Ben from shoe reviews years ago and vaguely remembered he had a PB pretty out of line with other results. On the other hand, Ben I'd never heard of before this thread but it sounds like he really does have some PB imposter issues. Not to confuse either of them with Ben, who of course is probably injured or maybe training in Kenya ... or something. For info, I'll have to check in with Ben, who of course hosts the Run Your Mouth podcast with his co-host, Ben. Great show where they discuss a range of topics from their favorite actor in Goodwill Hunting, Ben, their favorite singer of hit song "Beautiful Things," Ben(son), and of course their favorite Spanish middle distance runner, Adrian... BEN!

Comment section is an entertaining one.
Is she a legit OT contender for 2028? She is obviously talented, if she can run 1:11/2:35 AND still be a med student.
Blogsnark mentioned her too re: the vo2 max issue.

Some of the docs call her out, etc. She cites a post from 11/25/25 to drive engagement to that post as well. She's not dumb, but she doesn't even need the Oly Trials to do well in life--she'll be a doc and make all sorts of $$$$$.
Thanks! So I believe we get the option to run in either the fast-r or the DNE4… I’ll absolutely choose the DNE4 unless it’s drastically changed (which I don’t think it has)… otherwise the next 10 weeks will be hammering my pair of fast-r into the ground to try and get used to them!

Look forward to the videos on it. Usually agree with most of your shoe reviews
As soon as I saw it I had you and sirpoc in mind for this for London, as you are two people I've seen say great things about puma and assumed you both had a good chance of reaching the target. Maybe he got in as well.

No. She will be in residency soon and I don't think she is going to be able to maintain her extreme exercise program on top of 80 hour weeks. Residency is a complete different beast compared to med school.
For someone who’s clearly pretty decent at running (though honestly not as good as they should be - given it’s pretty much their entire life). It’s actually remarkable how little Fenton knows about training. In that video where he and Victor Smurfs are running around Spain, Fenty says something like “I never knew about periodization until recently”.
I can’t decide if this guy is either highly coachable or totally uncoachable. Christ knows what he’s doing taking lactate.
It’s not marginal gains, it’s marginal brains. It’s all dashboard, no driver.
