Ok, so? Are you saying it's ok to run people over and kill them if they hit your car with their fists or some other object? Also, the driver was at the demonstration so if he had a brain (highly questionable given his military service record and apparent belief system) he would've known how to avoid the crowded areas of town and drive a different route.
I realize he's not from the area but with google maps, wayz, etc. around these days, it shouldn't be too hard to firgure out a route with less traffic. As way of an ancedote, I was once in New Orleans for Mardi Gras. This was many years ago when I was young and dumb and in my 20s. I had driven down there from your neck of the woods with two buddies while I was in grad school. I mistakenly drove across burbon st.....not. good. Super crowded. People banging on my car. You know what I didn't do? Run people over.

Your story is much different than his. He went to a legal rally, was confronted by violent people armed for battle, the rally was dispersed by the police, and the only exit for the legal protesters was to go THROUGH the left wing fascists. More fighting, more beatings, more pepper spray.
I'm guessing he got into his car, and turned down the wrong street, realized he was surrounded by people who were beating on him a minute ago, got worried about what might happen, and then BAM! Something hits his car hard and he can't see what it is, he doesn't know what will happen next because BLM people have been known to drag people out of their cars and beat them up, so he panics and hits the gas to try to get out of there.
That's what I think happened. Was it the right thing to do? No. Was it an explicit act of terrorism. No.
