Also, Asher's video does not show any person on the back. There could have been some sort of compartment, however, the driver would be concerned if driving in the middle of the night and can't see the person they are supporting for hours at a time.

I figured most of the cheating happened late at night in isolated areas. Agree it would be risky. Mostly likely Michael was in on it, but I was giving him the benefit of the doubt. 5-10% chance of innocence?

Also, I wasn't sure how the driver could watch the road and the runner at the same time since RY would have to be quite a ways behind to not be sucking exhaust. Not sure why he didn't run in front (well, if he were trying to do it honestly).

The thought that any of the 3 in the RV did not fully know about the cheating is patently absurd!

It is not like they were around each other for just a limited time per day. They were stuck together 24/7! And they were stuck inside a cramped RV (20ft w a couple of beds and a couch??). They probably knew details about each other in those closed quarters that they wish they never knew. If somebody farted they all knew it. Also, imagine the boredom of driving at 5-10mph for crissakes!!!!

So please don't take this thread in the direction that one of the 3 was manipulated and deceived for many weeks every single day. My theory is the Michael may have started on the up and up, but came quickly aboard the cheating train immediately. Perhaps he was enticed by visions of riches/ media attention rolling into Times Square for each of them. The two traveling Gypsy's likely filled his head with all types of promises.

BTW, what happened to the media guy in the Rob Young Video that was touting his credentials and press awards he won? Somebody needs to put a microphone in his face now too.

On his wiki page...his height is 60ft!!! This explains the BFG stride length.

Yeah.... agree that Michael should be fired for exactly this reason.

My thought is that he may not have known at the beginning, but had to have somehow become aware of it somewhere along the way.

At a bare minimum, once he was aware of skepticism he should have increased his attention to verifying and being the "independent witness" he was supposed to be.

I guess I'm wondering if this was premeditated by the whole team, premeditated only by Rob, or not premeditated and RY decided to start on-the-spot at the RV breakdown incident and the rest was just trying to see how far they could keep the charade going.

He seems to have been deleting a lot including apparently blocking a guy called Darren Woodward (not sure if he is on here) who has been persistently critical of Rob throughout. Well done Darren, by the way. I wonder how long my comment will last.

1) I don't see any plausible way all three were not aware. They all had to be in the rv when I tried to run with them. The only possibility is one was sleeping, but I'm sure the commotion would have woke him up, and he would have still been awake when they started cheating again less than 20 minutes later.

2) where are you hearing the skins employee didn't get fired? Sure skins is taking some responsibility in the press release, but that doesn't mean the guy isn't fired. He's probably done at skins, but employers don't typically publicize terminations. Remember, this was all about Rob.

3) that media guy is busy making a documentary about this attempt. At least he said so in his request for a copy of the surveillance footage at a higher quality than recorded from a phone.

Regarding whether RY jumped on the back of the RV without Michael Sphincter's knowledge.

The TomTom data analysis focused on sessions with speed over 9 minute miles. The previous analyses of various data showed RY 'running' at incredible speeds.

It is highly unlikely Sphincter would have driven the RV faster during these sections, unless:

a) He knew RY was inside the RV

b) He knew RY was running near the RV at those speeds

Wow. Dave Warady, who allegedly won the 1992 Runners World transcon race, is defending RY and criticizing the investigation of RY in the comments of the Skins blog.

Maybe he's new to this whole RY thing, but I don't know how he could be.

He commented on this thread in the early stages. He must be a bit dense or something.

Has anyone thought to call that CC TV guy who was out filming/running with him and left his name and number in a video?

It would be interesting to get that guys reaction now.

He's enabled geographical restrictions on the page. Try to access from a US based IP address and you'll get the content unavailable message. The page doesn't even show up in a search for 'marathonmanuk'. It's also not visible from various European proxies I tried, but shows up just fine from a UK address.

His 10,000 Turkish fans are going to be disappointed

I think there's still some unanswered questions...

1. Having seen Mark Vaz get caught out just weeks previously in his Land's End John O'Groats run, how would they have thought they could get away with cheating on this record attempt. With the GPS tracking on the RV, any time, day or night someone could be looking for them (which they did), and fail to find Rob. Secondly the GPS data if they couldn't maintain normal running speeds would find them out. It seems inevitable, so was this a last hurrah, with a (presumably) expenses paid trip to the States thrown in, knowing they'd likely get caught?

2. If Michael Speicher did not know about the cheating then how did Rob Young plan (or manage) to hide it from him? If he did know about the cheating then why did he not report it to Skins. Or did he report it to Skins? Hypothetically - but what would Skin's have done if they found out mid run? If he did know about it, but did not report it to Skins then when was an agreement made - before the run, or during it?

I don't think there is any way he could do that.

That's 9:25 pace for the 1st marathon, 7:56 for the 2nd and 7:35 for the third.

I'd be very careful about the three marathons challenge, I seem to remember when Rob did these they were independently verified by members of the East Sheen Collective, Dustin Brooks wife and an East Sheen female resident and childrens book writer who it turns out Dustin had published for, it's all back in the thread somewhere.

With this independent verification there can be no doubt it's true.

I think the other two were in on it, but not RY.

Rojo, the company is based in Switzerland, it was an Australian start up and used to be based there, boss Fuller is Australian, employee Speicher is American. Agree with everything you say.

So what did this verification look like? Tailing him on a bike taking video with timestamps ?
