He's proving that the best way to cheat is to do it blatantly and without apology. His biggest cheat is that he's supposed to be running, and even has a larger-than-life picture of him doing that on the side of the RV.
He just carries on like cycling is the same is running. And that, my friend, is cheating.
That, and turning off the tracker, and not showing up where he's supposed to be. All demonstrably false. Video of him in the RV will be the final piece of evidence.

I can vouch that I absolutely saw 18 mph. Not sure about the rest but I have no reason to doubt it.

How do you see "live speeds"? The only way I know how to get mph is to do the math between two specific points. If it matters, I'm using a Samsung phone to look at the tracking.
A tool-tip pops up when you hover the mouse over it on a computer. Not sure about on a phone.

The best way to see the live speeds is on a desktop browser with a mouse because the desktop view lets you hover over the arrow with a mouse to see the live speeds.
The peak speed I saw today was 25.2 mph on flat ground also a few miles after the Highway 55 cross over.
They have been stopped at the Courtyard by Marriott in Oxford for a while. Either it is an injury, or maybe an equipment failure. There is a bicycle shop next door so they can fix whatever needs repairing. Hey Darren, buy an odometer as long as you're there. That way you can account for those times when your tracking equipment isn't working. Can you explain what happened yesterday when you went "as the crow flies" for a while?

I saw it too. The speed jumps around A LOT. He will be going 16mph and then suddenly drop to like 8 and then back up to 20. Either he is a very inconsistent bike rider who can maintain a regular speed or the RV driver guns it sometimes.
The speed fluctuations are the smoking gun. We got him.

My immediate response reading Ozzie's post was that it had to be a parody post written by someone who has read all the famous fraud-runner discussions on here.

The smoking gun is if we get video of this from boots on the ground. The GPS data is only supporting evidence.

It's up and down all day in terms of elevation because of the hills on the route so on the downhill sections they should have higher speeds. For that 27 mph that was a downhill so not something unexpected. The uphill sections before is what was suspect.
Regardless of what happens kavinokus journey was a failure. He was hoping to get all sorts of press and do all sorts of shit with clebrities and he didn't. He was calling himself 'the new face of 50'. He also will have a hard time profiting off this in the future. You can't write a motivational book (he alluded to doing this before starting) about getting paid to ride a bike across the country.

Yes, Kavinoky is the new fail of 50.
I have seen a lot of good athletes in their 50ies and 60ies. Darren is not one of them. He stopped running after 25 miles in a Trans Con. Well that is a new World Record but probably nothing to write a book about.
They will probably "cycle" their way to the coast on the shortest route possible to stop the nightmare in a good manner for their sponsors.
Or maybe these are elevation changes. Slower uphill and faster down. I note that the so called smoking gun coincided with a drop from 486 feet down to 358 feet. I checked using a PC but have noted the detail is not as good using a cell phone.
