Had a look at blogsnark and it is entirely about who has posted against ice versus those who have not or only made stories rather than grid posts and should thus be unfollowed. This is definitely more about the running, bad training, hypocrisy audacity and shilling
I don't get the whole deal between stories vs. grid posts, why does it matter? (I don't follow insta enough to know why it's a big deal, although I know stories are more common).
What you have to remember is that the women posting there are basically femcels.
There’s a reason why they disproportionately target skinny attractive women, and also why the influencers they like are either not conventionally attractive or present themselves in a kind of androgynous manner.
What makes it even funnier is they’ll try to maintain some facade about how, no, they actually hate this influencer or that influencer because they haven’t spoken out about ice raids or drumpf or whatever and then two posts down they’ll be seething about how they posted a story where you could see their abs or a thigh gap lol.
They also have some bizzare obsession with influencers not “hydrating” properly, I remember having a look once and they were freaking out that some influencer had done a 10 mile run and didn’t take heckin’ water, as if just having a glass before you go out the door isn’t sufficient (though maybe it isn’t if you’re slow and obese like most of the posters over there are).
This thread can get a big nasty sometimes but more in a light hearted taking the piss at influencers being moronic way (FENTON!!!!!) rather than from any place of actual hatred.

I didn't even know what femcels were or had heard of that term. I knew what incels were/are, etc.
Yeah that place takes itself TOO seriously, but there are times when they actually are kind to others (AOTR), esp. with her challenges, but 90% of the time they are worse then GOMI and Tattle (UK). The worst I've seen is voy! (at least for other sports besides running).
OMTIU calling out some minor instagram people with barely any followers for claiming a Strava time at the burj2burj half marathon, but has received so many messages tipping off Ben Parker’s fraudulent marathon ‘PB’ around Richmond Green with the biggest GPS drift I’ve ever seen. One big circle jerk.
They’re such a loser, can’t believe there was such hype at the beginning only to find it’s an influencer brown nosing nerd behind it. Someone who loves that world clearly and wanted the attention but was too scared or rubbish to just put their face on a run influencer account attempt.
"It’s a weird dynamic as well - Phily and Holly have done training camps before (also with Anya), Anya and Mary are friends (but Anya is training a lot with Mary’s ex), Anya and Holly were really close for awhile but don’t seem to hang out as much anymore, so anything that gets said has the potential to be taken as a personal attack not a general comment."
It is hilarious that all the British women of social media are attacking each other and/or in bed together. And a lot of them are injured for doing dumb things. But it is A LOT to try to comprehend that comment.
Outside of all all this, Holly has a brief blink and you miss it cameo in Cole’s (really good) latest video.
Cole moved to my town in the UK where Holly also trains and there's one athletics track there. Cambridge is less than an hour away on a good road so possible could also train with C&C and Callum Elson.
A page that calls itself the official unofficial marathon time integrity unit. Calls out people posting Strava graphic that cut the seconds off the ran time so will be ie 1:21 instead of 1:21:45, but will only call out micro influencers or hyrox and creams themselves if Hugo fry or Calum Goddard or any other run influencer comments. They kiss the runna lads butt too and refuse to call him out for his 2:35.
Ben does come across as a bit of a melt. I’ve met one of his family member’s too: also a melt. Even he couldn’t stop going on about the other lad in the partnership, he seems to be the brains of the operation.
The unofficial marathon PB is a joke and puts the rest of their practises into disrepute.
Anyone got running youtuber recs for channels run by people with actual jobs?
I'm sure I'd find the content much more enjoyable than ET looking MFers like Ben Fenton running around Spain with other guys who look like lost baristas.
Also, anyone reading this that gives money to any of these influencers by patreon, may I suggest a lobotomy?
Not YT so not answering your q but full time teacher, is in the elite pen for London.
also a full time teacher, is posting more contenty content. Great runner.
Both seem like nice chaps, don't shill, know what they're on about. JEP's Strava is fun if you like cryptic word puzzles.
Highly recommend giving Tommy Lewis/tommyrunpt a follow. Genuinely a good guy and great for the sport. More of a trail running focus but his intentions are good and his values are in check. I won’t say much more as I’ll let you make your own judgement but take a look. Has a solid podcast too. Not to worry, like Goddard d*ck riding the likes of Bester, Davies and Culling

Most accurate blogsnark analysis I've seen. Well done.
That said, some influencers are rightfully called out for flexing how they do long runs without calories or water. People like Elizabeth clor and fit bit Makayla repeatedly post about doing two hours runs with no water or calories. Yes, I do this sometimes but I know I am being dumb and lazy... I don't turn around and brag about it on social media.

The difference is jealousy. No one here actually wants to be Bester, Fenton, Floberg, etc. They’re all weird try hards who may (or may not) run a little faster than you and their lives don’t seem very appealing at all.
But these female influencers are having a different (much more glamorous) life than the aforementioned male shoetubing bumblers. They’re young, get a lot of free gear, and sometimes flown around to events and are all conveniently attractive (which is mostly how they gained followings on Instagram or TikTok in the first place). The running is totally secondary.
Nick Bester ran a pulsating 5k at Battersea Parkrun last Saturday, totally dominating the competition, that Trip to Kenya came at exactly the right time the hard work he done out there has paid off

If you think Elizabeth Cor is attractive, you need to go to Specsavers. The face. Please look at the face.

Bit like when Fenton did Kenya. I'm not even saying this as a troll or hater. These guys legit have all the time in the world and they have no clue how to spend their time wisely. It's mad. Their egos are too big to listen to anything anyone else says at this point.
Whereas they could just log onto Amazon, buy a copy of NSM and they might understand where they are going wrong. That's a genuine suggestion, but again their ego is too big to assume they could learn something.

While I don't disagree that trips to Kenya are counter-productive to their training, I think the rhetoric that they don't know how to train at all and are idiots is off the mark. Bester has run a sub 2:20 marathon. How many runners ever achieve that, let alone when they are over 6 foot and 70kg? Ben has run a sub 2:25 marathon, which is another impressive time, and I wouldn't be surprised if he breaks 2:20 in the next few years.
I think most runners in the UK would love to be in Nick Bester's body - even for just a few minutes - to experience what it's like
Agreed - I'd love to be a child again for an afternoon, prancing around in my Power Rangers costume and thinking the Adidas logo would look sick shaved into my hair.

How much runners get the opportunity to train for a living to help them achieve those times?
