I hope the democrats play the clips documenting hypocrisy and lying frequently in political ads. Force people to see and accept the type of person who wants their support.
Lindsay has a close election and his clip should destroy his chances. Mitch has had a two digit lead so he probably is safe.

That's the Sally vote.
He said he doesn't like Trump as a person but doesn't want Democrats putting judges in.
I don't think so... Democrat campaigns across the board saw record funding in the hours and days after Mitch's statement. People being extra pissed = potential turnout difference in key swing states. That gay guy or unemployed sick person who until now has not felt connected to politics may have seen the headline or heard from a friend and decided to register as a voter for the first time. That's how politics works - you have to believe every event can generate new/different votes. We wouldn't have a changing demographic voting base if that were not the case. Yesterday I got a call from my american friend in Germany asking if I can explain how I received an electronic ballot. He has not voted in decades and he's from PA, it makes a difference. Dems will once again use the nomination hearings to win more votes.

I think there is some broad agreement that the 'serve til death' SCOTUS system is flawed and inappropriate in a world where people live into their 90s.
Lots of interesting ways to fix it, usually involving staggered terms.
This country has been utterly unable to work together to fix problems, and the Rs are fixed in their 'the framers were basically gods and should not be questioned' hole, so they will be hard to budge.
I'm purposefully naive, but I do think Biden has chance to fix some broken things, since he would be a one term president who can work with the senate and isn't ideological.

I see this a bit differently. If the Republicans appoint a justice before the election, there will be no reason for some religious conservatives to vote. But independents and moderates will be angry and angry people vote.
If the Republicans didn't appoint a justice before election, there would be greater incentive for them to vote.
The calculation for Republicans is that filling a major lifetime seat is more important than winning a single election or taking any moral high ground, especially when they are underdogs in this upcoming election.
I can see it going like this:
Trump announces his pick.
Republicans urge conservatives to vote for them if they want this pick confirmed and use it as a campaign rally.
Republicans lose all around on November 3rd.
They still confirm Trump's pick in December.
Win or lose, Republican Senators will confirm Trump's pick this year.
The only question is whether they hold the vote before or after the election.
Confirming a pick right after losing an election would have terrible optics but they don't care about that.
I don't think Trump is going to win.
Mitch doesn't think Trump is going to win.
I don't think Donald thinks he's going to win.
They want a conservative SC Justice installed, so it has to be this year.

I dropped a $1,500 contribution on Graham's rival Harrison over the weekend. I will never regret this and hope it moves the needle. Flipping a seat like that sends a giant message about how serious voters are. I will probably always have a good chunk of money, but I believe my family's quality of my family and friend's lives will decrease significantly over the long run if we keep going like this. A contribution like this is a small price to pay if it makes a difference.

bravo.
I've given a couple thousand dollars to Dems over the past year - first time I ever made political donations in any size.

Dementia Joe said violence is bad. That's it. He never condemned BLM or Antifa because they support him. Kamala and campaign team not only donated money but also raised money to get Antifa and BLM rioters released from jail. One of the men released went on to commit a murder.
Stop playing stupid. Bend condemned BLM and ANTIFA protest violence.
Did Trump condemn the Charlottesville violence or his supporter who murdered scores of Hispanics in a Walmart in El Paso?
Yes. Yes he did. His exact words were, "They should be condemned totally."
Trump lies about everything, but he's not always lying.
He seems to be giving away the GOP plan - to have courts end all counting after election day. I'm sure amoral, traitorous R lawyers have some legal theories worked up and ready to launch.
And probably, if that doesn't work, delay, delay, delay, and try to get past the day the electoral college has to meet, so the House will declare him president.

"President Donald Trump said he is “counting on the federal court system” to ensure that the winner of the November presidential election is called just hours after the polls close, despite current rules across the country allowing ballots to be counted several days to weeks after the election.
“Now we’re counting on the federal court system to make it so that we can actually have an evening where we know who wins. Not where the votes are going to be counted a week later or two weeks later,” he said at a rally in North Carolina Saturday."

Yes Bravo! In some strange way, I hope the Republicans go through with this. I think it will cause them to lose the Senate and solidify Biden beating Trump. The end result will be very bad for Republicans. Already the Dems have had record level donations.

#FillTheSeat
They have the power to fill the seat and I'm sure they'll do that.
2 R Senators have recently said they are not in favor of it at this point.
Lindsey Graham promised not to do it and told people to hold him to his word.
The thing is, his word is no good and he is unethical.
The question remains if 2 more R Senators have any character or not.
The recent impeachment vote tells me it's not likely, so the seat will be filled.

There will be no flip.
You wasted your money.
Enjoy your loss.
Where the Dems should hammer the GOP:
The Senate Republicans are spending time on a new SCOTUS justice when they should be working on a COVID relief bill. Tens of millions of Americans need help NOW--not after weeks or months of putting a new justice on the Court.

China was totally at fault here. Totally at fault. I teased (I said berated but that was not the word I meant - Has anyone here ever used the wrong word than what was intended?) my wife about how China lied to the world about the Coronavirus and that is why we have millions of deaths. I blamed and blame CHINA for the millions of deaths. Your phrase "Blaming an Asian for causing Trump's mass deaths is IGNORANCE" - you do not even know what "ignorance" means. "Ignorance" means "unaware." Please learn how to use the word properly.
Also, you here are condemning me for teasing my wife about something bad CHINA did is laughable and pretty screwed up. The 2 cops ambushed and shot in the head - were at the hospital and in extremely dire circumstances. Dems were blocking them from getting to the hospital and even shouting incredibly terrible things like "death to the cops!" or something akin to that. Were you condemning that? Of course not. You are just doing what Dems do so naturally - be hypocrites. Well done!
Go away, wife berater. You are too evil and too stupid to participate here. No one cares what you say about anything. Just go away.

I agree, all this stomping their feet and holding their breath about the scotus pick is just a colossal waste of time. Republicans are gonna do whatever they do and could not care less what a bunch of crying liberals think about it. The louder they scream the more impotent they look and Trump loves it. They won the 2018 midterms by focusing on healthcare, they should talk about that and a covid relief bill and not waste time bawling about sdomething they have no control over.
