It is charges filed. Politifact claims it should be people *indicted* rather than count all the charges. They also claim the Russian with charges filed, or indictments. are not part of Trump's Administration, regardless of whether they reason they were charged is because of involvement with Trump. Based on that criteria someone like Giuliani being charged or indicted would not count against Trump even if the charges were for something that would benefit Trump.

Now Worldometer has made it official. All the top ten in cases per capita went for Trump in 2016. All but Louisiana have Republican governors.

The top ten super-spreader states are:

I actually think this puts the Republicans in a tough spot. Yes, they may be able to confirm a SC justice, but it will hurt them at the polls and may cost them the White House and the Senate. Maybe that's worth it if they bounce back electorally in 2 or 4 years, but if it leads to 8 - 12 years of Democratic control of the government they may regret going forward with this nomination.

You know that the Democratic Senate challengers in those 10 or so purple states are going to make the Republican incumbent's life miserable over the next 6 weeks. Harrison in SC will have a field day jamming Lindsey's words back down his throat, and running ads about how a man's only as good as his word. The Senate races in ME, AZ, NC, MT, CO, GA, IA and KS all just started looking better for the Dem challenger, and most of them were looking pretty good for the Dem challenger already.

Those Republican incumbent senators are caught between a rock and hard place. Follow Trump and lose the election, or defy Trump and feel his (and Mitch's) wrath, and still maybe lose the election.

and OF COURSE the Dems will overplay their hand, like they did in the Kav hearings, and cost themselves hundreds of thousands of votes. The Dems will convince all those moderate women in the burbs that no, the Democratic Party is not reasonable and YES the Democratic Party is led around by its fringes.

All to make the loudest bernie bros happy, they'll do this. and they'll tick off the much larger numbers of Biden voters.
