You may be right about Trump people driving voters to the polls, but that doesn't mean that Clinton supporters didn't also stay home. As the article argues, this year it's all about turn out, and maybe Trump did a better job of getting his people to the polls four years ago.
There is no maybe about it. It was done in 2016. Trump did call for it himself. Other people took on that task for him. The inappropriate part is who made up the list of who to pick up, and where and when, and how the driver was coordinated. We know that the friend who was a caravan driver was given a list of people to pickup. In her and her husbands case they picked up Amish people from central PA. They themselves live in NJ near on of the major universities there where her husband works. I had to tell my wife who the Amish were. She had no clue people like that existed in the U.S. (horse and buggy, no automation, types).
Now, the Amish won't drive themselves to the polls. It's against the lifestyle. But it is okay for them to accept a ride from a non-Amish person to do a specific task--like vote.
I should say: Remember all the noise Trump made in 2016 about "busing them in." He was whining about Detroit cheat by busing in voters. Meanwhile it was Trump whose people were actively doing just that, expect for having people use there personal vehicles or rented vans ... but any not buses. It all makes sense in Trumpthink. He always complains about someone doing what he is actively doing. If HRC did the same as Trump did in PA then Trump loses PA.
