the other wrinkle is that if there are doubt and lawsuits about the presidential election...there will also be doubt and legislation about the House elections. So we may not know who should be seated in congress for some time.

The part I bolded is INCORRECT! Unfortunately, Trumpers follow that man like puppies, and they take cues from him. He clearly downplayed the virus and continues to as he holds indoor rallies with maskless hordes. He has made it not only OK to not wear a mask, but made it so that it is anti-Democrat to do so.

Incidentally, and as a sidebar, since Barr is so for unfettered powers of the President, if Biden, as President, institutes a nationwide mask mandate, he should be all for it.

Trump is responsible for tens of thousands of Americans due to his inaction and continued cavalier response to COVID-19.

No you can't fix stupid. Even though he was in the ICU for 11 days with covid after holding services with no mask requirement, his church still doesn't require masks.

Though this is no different than having 175,000 americans die of covid in a short period and millions still not believing it's a problem. It's the same as attending a crowded trump rally without masks or distancing and laughing at those who act responsibly.

Yeah without election results Ds would be even more powerful, many less Rs in the mix in that case. That's why Mitch has been speaking out against any notion that we won't hold timely elections. Deferral aint gonna happen. The house is definitely going to stay Democrat but for the GOP to have a chance at the Senate they have to hope the trump train doesn't derail. This is why they are all happy to fully support his tactics and even open criminality. The legal team being assembled by Dems to work on election strategy is absolutely key. They have to apply game theory and fully map out all scenarios to make sure they can defend and counter any move.

Their excuse is that Trump is owning the Libs.

Interesting development:

The left leaning Green Party has been removed from the ballot in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania for not following proper procedures.

In 2016, Green Party candidate Jill Stein received more votes than Trump’s winning margin in both of those states.

These people will not be voting for Trump.

Sure, they can write in their candidate but chances are they will check the box for Biden.

538 update:

Stable at 76% likelihood of Biden winning. Hasn't changed from the 75-76 range for a week. Presumably if Biden stays at +6.6% the likelihood of him winning will rise as time goes on.

The polling average has been steadily tightening, down to just Biden +6.6%. Biden has to stay over +4% in the popular vote to have a chance in the EC. So right now if the polls are wrong in Trump's favor and the real result is Biden +3%, then Trump will likely win the EC. Of course the polls could be wrong in Biden's favor also.

538 has the senate switching to Dem hand at 58% likely.
