Yes, they are lying. That's pretty clear. The White House has refused to say how or where they got their numbers on excess mortality.

I was thinking that this is really bad for everyone. It is not what we want going into the winter months, so I really hope I'm wrong and it just turns around and starts going down again.

But if I must put a political spin on it I think it's very bad for president antichrist. He won't be able to delay the election and Democrats are all set to vote by mail.

....and he knows all of this which is why he's increased his daily rants on election fraud which has little to no basis in fact and is working through the court system to eliminate as many ballots as possible.

I think the point is that in a hot pandemic situation, some R states may call off the election and not send electors to the EC. A state controlled by an R state legislature that votes for Biden. AZ, for example. AZ and WI for example. Those states might say 'due to the pandemic we cannot run a free and fair election, so we will not send electors to the EC'

Lawsuits go on and on, and the EC deadline passes and no candidate gets 270 votes.

Therefore the House decides who is president and they will choose trump.

We know that Trump is the master of using law to delay. In this scenario, he only has to delay for a month, to get past the EC. THen he's home free. 4 more years. Just one month delay. December 14.

If Manafort and Don Jr. could not be indicted for criminal conspiracy with Russia, I don't think there is any reason to believe a sedition case is easier to prove.

That would put the lives of state legislators in danger. I don't think those legislators are willing to die for the president.

one refinement I just became aware of: The next congress would select the president, not the current congress. So if in 11/2020 voters hand more state delegations to Ds than to Rs...then Biden would win the presidency. In this scenario.

If the process drags beyond January 21, then Pelosi becomes the president until Congress settles the drag. Republicans would rather have Biden as president than Pelosi. Expect a quick resolution. Even if that means using physical force (approved by Republicans) to remove Trump if he decides to be a squatter and barricades himself in the White House basement.
