This is not a farfetched question.
If they are trump supporters then they are patriots. But remember, there is no Russian interference. And how dare you imply that members of the Trump Youth are potential criminals?
The legal fallout out if Trump loses is going to be phenomenal. LOTS of people are going to jail. That's why this has gotten so nutty. It's not about the country, it's about saving their own butts.
And watch the circus clowns like rigged scramble when what we already know becomes proven facts.
yes, the fallout will be spectacular.

Those people are idiots, and they represent why we are still having the issues in this country that we are.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't count on it. Such fallout would result in at least 60 million tzees feeling humiliated and hopeless, not to mention it would be perceived as payback. My guess is the higher ups on both sides will prefer to look ahead and it will become yet another $hit stained chapter in our history book, that is if we're lucky to not have to be debating alternative facts down the road. The Bush Jr admin was no doubt a colossal american failure and a global destabilizing force. Remember how quickly that was forgotten? Trump is certainly a bigger failure by several orders of magnitude, but I think it will just be left as a good old story of a $10 trillion hole, total erosion of democracy and ever divided america. The most we may see is an OJ like effect where the trump crime operation becomes riddled with lawsuits and the family goes broke defending themselves and maybe, if we're really lucky, citizen orange man does something way too criminal to ignore and even Rs are ok destroying him.

Assuming Trump loses in 2020: Trump's engagement with law enforcement will depend on whether Trump decides to run again in 2024. if he forms an election committee, I suspect Dem politicians will be particularly aggressive in going after him in multiple jurisdictions.
But if trump shows no sign of running again...probably NY State will go after him on taxes, but the rest of it will walk away and say 'let's move on.'
That's the precedent in this nation...just keep moving on.
coal production and employment have continued to collapse under Trump.
promise not kept.
But they'll vote for him anyway, because he owns the libs.

Barr has been all over the place recently.
It's like he is really fearing a Trump loss.
He's been talking about prosecutors being overzealous.
I think he is worried about being prosecuted himself next year.
Look at all of the Trump associates who have been convicted while Trump has been president.
Now imagine how associates feel if he is no longer president.

I dunno about criminal prosecution of Barr...his record over generations seems to be to protect and defend Republican presidents. He's a true believer in right wing causes and probably genuinely thinks Clinton, Obama and Biden are the road to communism. I doubt he broke any laws. He's one of the real faithful and thinks he is a good guy. He's not a classic trumpian thief, like all the rest.

this is another example of moran right wing politics.
HRC openly said, correctly, that these jobs were going away, and she was proposing a large re-training and support program for coal country.
Great, right? Well received in WV, right?
Nah - they hated her for it.
Those miners would have been much better off under president HRC but they'll never admit it.

Trump has made himself hostage to this election situation - he must win or all is lost. Barr has been leveraging this predicament and the power of his appointment to stretch the country's tolerance for political and personal criminality. So sure, he may not appear to be openly criminal, but only because he hides behind the DOJ. If using the DOJ to stretch constitutional limitations and empower a corrupt POTUS was a crime, then consider Barr a very criminal dude.

yep, the way they see it is either a) continue to face an existential threat under Dems or b) get a life line under trump (even if perceived). Complacency will keep them steered toward b)

it's very gendered, right? non-college white male trump voters see trump as a way to maintain their maleness...a vote for the dem party makes them feel weak and female. That's the problem they have with masks...trump men think it's a cowardly female solution to the problem, so they won't do it.
Probably same with a dozen other things, incl guns.
And it keeps going up. There is still an indication of an upward surge in cases nationwide.
According to Worldometer, here is the 7 day average for the last five days:
Sept. 12: 35,206
Sept. 13: 35,332
Sept. 14: 37,142
Sept. 15: 38,286
Sept. 16: 38,987
There are only two other times we have seen a five day stretch like this in the 7 day average. In both cases, the average went up by more than 30,000 per day in a few weeks time. If that's what we are seeing now then we can expect to be back to the summer peak in about 4 to 6 weeks.

which would put us at early November. What else happens in early november?
the ultimate conspiracy theory is that Trump is trying to spread covid so he can delay or disregard the election.
if we're in a bad outbreak...who is going to be a poll worker? Old people won't vote.
delaying the election will suddenly sound like a viable option. Certainly elected Rs would go along with it.
not saying I believe this, but it would benefit putin, so it would benefit trump.
Trump is certainly doing all he can to spread the virus.
the WH answers the 4% of population/25% of deaths issue.
The WH says it is looking at excess mortality to get a truer view of deaths, and the US looks better there.
Which is true, excess mortality is a good way to look at this, but of course we have to assume the WH is lying about numbers because they always lie.

They are not going to get two thirds of both houses to agree to delay the election.
Especially with most Democrats votes already have been sent to drop boxes and the mail.

I honestly have little doubt that by some combination of executive order, red state legislature and the US senate, an emergency could legally be declared to delay the election.
Remember that if the EC doesn't do its job by a certain date, the House selects the president, and certainly trump would win that bit of theater.
The past few years have proven that if the exec branch declares a national emergency and has the senate at its back, there is very little it can't do.
