Just to address one of your points - riots ARE helping Trump in a very big way. Biden was hiding in his basement and was refusing to condemn the widespread riots and looting taking place in many democratic-led cities. For months he refused to condemn these riots and looting. Only when polls showed his support waning and Trump's "law and order" mantra proving successful did Biden leave his basement and in a very mild fashion condemn the riots.

I am an enthusiastic Biden supporter and I don't have a Biden sign or shirts or hats. And I'm not getting any.

I'm in Maryland. It's going for Biden without people putting up any signs. And I do see more Trump signs in Maryland, but he ain't winning here.

Trump fans are more rabid but they are not more plentiful.

I agree with both of you. Hillary won Maryland by like 35 points so it's obviously going for Biden.

I should have clarified Theory #2 to say that while people may be glad to vote for Biden, it's not a central part of their identity in same way that it is for many Trump 'fans'. That doesn't make them more or less likely to vote just because they don't own a shirt with Biden's face on it.

Your link is behind a paywall, but the most recent RCP polling average has Biden up in Minnesota by 5.3. The polling only goes through 8/18, so it's a little old at this point.

Hillary only beat Trump by about 1.5% in Minnesota, so if the polls are accurate then Trump's actually doing a lot worse there now than he did 4 years ago.

But if by "in play" you mean that Trump has a chance to pick up a state that has traditionally gone Democratic, then yes, it's in play just like Texas is in play for Biden.

I know you right wingers are loving the rioting because you think it's helping Trump. I'm not so sure that's the case. Whenever race relations are grabbing the headlines, it's bad for Trump. And the right wing vigilantism that has led to 2 dead in Kenosha and 1 dead in Portland mutes the BLM/Antifa drumbeat that the Trumpers are pounding out.

Fox News poll from 9/1 is bad news for Trump. Biden is beating him in AZ, NC and WI among likely voters. Trump won all 3 states in 2016.

If the rioting and protesting was hurting Biden and helping Trump, you'd expect to see that particularly in Wisconsin, but Biden still has a comfortable lead there.

Also, the question of who is better able to handle policing and criminal justice didn't go so well for our "law and order" President. On this question, Biden beat Trump by 5 in AZ and WI; Trump beat Biden by 1 in NC.

Fox News does not care about accuracy in its polling. Their state polls only sample 11% independents and they poll less than 1,000 people - which gives a very biased result. Clown polls. I criticized their polling in 2016 as well.

This one seems as legitimate as the "you won't be safe in Joe Biden's America" clip that you posted, that was edited so the context was lost, when what Biden actually said was "Trump and Pence say you won't be safe in Joe Biden's America, but the rioting that's going on is from Donald Trump's America".

Or the "all we will do is elect Donald Trump" clip that you posted, when the complete quote was "All we will do is elect Donald Trump if we continue with this circular firing squad".

And you posted a clip of an unscripted interview that Biden gave to Anderson Cooper of CNN about a week ago; why do you continue with this claim that Biden only takes scripted questions when you know that's not true?

Why wouldn't Trump answer this question? He's not going to get away with this on national TV during the debates. Chris Wallace will embarrass Trump like he did in that July interview.

During the trip, Trump was asked by a reporter whether he thinks systemic racism is a problem in the United States, given that there are also peaceful protests around the country calling for an end to it. More bad news for Trump, he's losing among likely voters in PA and FL, although the FL poll is within the margin of error. He won both states in 2016.

PA: Biden up by 8.

FL: Biden up by 3.

In PA, 1107 likely voters were polled; in FL, 1235 likely voters were polled.

1. Trump has not gotten any convention bounce (Biden didn't either).

2. The protests, rioting, looting, antifa, BLM etc. don't seem to be changing the poll numbers all that much.
