You are talking mush, miser. If you actually listen to Jews in America, even Democrat Jews, they will all tell you that they want to destroy Gaza. These are existential events to Jews. They want well-deserved revenge served with great vengeance. Can you blame them? Are Islamics trying to eradicate your entire race from planet earth?
Incorrect, most American "jews" are secular and don't identify with those issues in Israel, which they don't see as their home. Hence those poll results. You are nuts.
You are nuts if you believe that Jews anywhere are "secular" on the Islamic terrorist attacks on Israel that happened 3 days ago. Carmine-level nuts. Suitcase-throwing ape nuts.
American Jewish Committee surveys also find 52% of all Americans think GOP holds anti-Semitic opinions; 82% of US Jews say anti-Semitism on rise in last 5 years
OK, yes, in this aspect (hiding their actions vs being proud of them) these Hamas folks are worse than the Nazis. On the other hand, they have more legitimate reason for their hatred of Jews.
Not that any level justifies what they just did - simply pointing out that the German Nazis hated and massacred Jews with far less of a legitimate grievance than the Palestinians.
It's complicated. And the Israeli response will be "justified" (as if "justice" somehow applies to any child being slaughtered by anyone). But it is complicated - with no correct answer.
well in the end that old moral calculus is useful:
if the palestinians could do whatever they wanted, they'd kill all the jews in israel or drive them out and take the land.
if the israelis could do whatever they wanted, they'd just leave the palestinians to gaza and the west bank and leave it there.
not all that helpful to keep going back generations to determine rights and wrongs...just go with the facts on the ground.
I'm not sure that is the broad sentiment across Palestine and Israel, but what matters is leadership. They have the power to generate the conditions for some form of peace and desire for peace. From both sides that has to start with some form of empathy and mutual appreciation for the losses each side has suffered. And it's BS that Hamas can't be negotiated with. Israel and Hamas will absolutely negotiate a prisoner swap in the coming days/weeks/months. There are thousands of Palestinian prisoners in Israel and this has been a massive source of anger and frustration in Palestine. They will negotiate, maybe not directly, but they will. And every time there is a negotiation, there is a chance for additional agreements (e.g. ceasefire) and some form of collaboration.
The main barrier I see is the funding on the Hamas side. They are stuck having to please Iran and being in the favor of their people. Those interests are somewhat aligned but I guarantee you most Palestinians just want peace, just like most Israelis. Appeal to the will of the people and their security, because they are the ones who stand to suffer the most.
this is so tricky...the biggest American political supporters of Israel are, of course, white evangelical Christians, who are almost 100% Republicans. Do they love Israel? Well sorta. They love it through their lens of rapture and whatnot. They think Jesus would want Jews in control of the holy land, not muslims, to usher in the rapture. The love is not out of much love for the government and people of Israel - they love israel out of their own selfish wants. Is that anti-semitic or pro-semitic? Neither...it's pro-Christian and anti-Muslim. So complicated.

A question I have is how the heck this Israel drop the ball this badly intelligence-wise... They have a lot of people infiltrated in Gaza, the West Bank and Hamas, and nobody saw this coming? Massive failure.

lsrael has pretty much admitted that they did get warnings, but disregarded them. Like Bush2 disregarded warnings of 911.
The core problem is that for political reasons Bibi is more concerned about protecting settlers in the west bank than anything else - so troops were there, not in the South. It was a jewish holiday so all those settlements needed protection. Whoops.
I hope bibi will pay a price for that decision, but he probably won't.
These guys just can’t help themselves. They’re outed every single time.
You got me! I have been outed as an intelligent, thinking being. You, on the other hand . . .
Come on. Shhhh. Quiet. Just between you and me…You really don’t think you are intelligent, do you? It’s “real obvi” to the rest of us that you’re an idiot. You prove it with each post. Do it again. I’ll show you. Lol
I posted the idea based on how the nazis were somewhat secretive but Hamas/Palestinians were bragging. Not the support issue.
a bit apples to oranges of course...

So your thoughts on Hamas: *crickets.* Got it, thanks.
Hamas are scum. I’d gladly see them all dead. I’d also like all hostages released unharmed but that seems unlikely.
No crickets, just hadn’t replied yet. No need to create imaginary offense.
You actually did reply. I waited until you replied, which ignored my question about Hamas. Thank you for condemning them though. Better late than never.

He won't be paying any political price.. this is probably very helpful for his right wing extremist appeasement.
