Oddly enough, both videos that you supplied show only a very minor altercation - and that being initiated by the security forces surrounding Paul.

Sorry, but shoving people and then being upset that they shove back does not qualify as being under "attack."

While I always said that this thing would be felt everywhere, including rural states, (not just NYC, etc.), I consider deaths to be more indicative of the toll of the disease than cases. In terms of deaths per capita, the following is the top ten list.

I respectfully disagree.

1. Case counts are indicative of the spread of the disease and the effectiveness of public health policy. It appears that these red states with higher per capita cases are doing something wrong.

2. States hit early had higher mortality because we didn't know as much about treating the disease.

3. Case counts tell which way things are headed. Deaths follow cases. So as I said, it looks like my prediction is coming true. But time will tell. It's still not all said and done.

4. Deaths are not the only issue. The disease itself takes a toll in many, many ways both economically and in long term health.

So while deaths are one valid way to look at it, I still consider that cases per capita are a better indicator of which states are doing the best job fighting the disease.

You are both leaving out hospitalizations or simply sickness.

The case total is bad because it leads to more cases which could lead to more sickness or death.

Death is bad because it's death.

Now if you have a ton of people getting sick and going to the hospital but recovering, that's still a big strain on resources that the death count doesn't account for.

And asymptomatic cases do put put a strain on hospitals but it shuts down life for everyone around them for a bit.

Biff, you continue to show how unbelievably dumb you are. You don't understand that civil unrest is only a repudiation of the current party in power. You can get mad at BLM all you want, but the reality is that there are protests against the man here, because the man, the Orange Man, has failed miserably. These continued protests hurt Trump, they do not help him.

You are wishing hard here with no realistic reason to believe Trump has a shot at winning again. He won't. You are such a stupid person, and you need to go back to Sunday School with the children and try again and see if actual Christian values stick. You haven't got a clue what those are.

I'm not saying that you're right or wrong, but you missed the point. This wasn't an attack, as Paul and people like you are trying to spin it into. The police did their job, Rand got to his hotel (probably Trump's bribe deposit box) safely, and that's the end of it. Rand's not even saying that anyone touched him, although I haven't looked at the video.

It's like if the facts don't line up with your narrative, you keep pushing the narrative anyway.

There was a thread for a while which was deleted. This gist was: Trump is terrible, but the dems are crazy. What is one to do.

My response there could not post because the thread was deleted. Trump only stuff goes here.

The president is mainly a figurehead. If they can't effectively lead, then no much gets done. As awful as Trump is, he has not got much done. Thankfully. He's all talk and very little action.

That said, he's an absolutely terrible figurehead. He's an embarrassment. We've become the laughing stock of the work instead of the moral compass. It's time for Trump to go. And all who enabled him to go as well. It's time to rebuild the republican party into the part of ethics, morality, and reason. If that's even possible any more.

Biden might be able to get things done as president. If he stays the centrist he's been most of his life. If he veers to the far left he won't get much done. Everything starts with the president, but if he can't lead (like the past several presidents), then it's up to congress to muddle things through at the typical snail pace they follow when directionless.

For me there is only one choice, and it's clear and it's for the soul of our country. Not that I expect great things from Biden. I don't, but Trump abject amoral, lying, corrupted con-man's game has got to go. It can't come quickly enough for me.
