I'm one of the only ones on here who have called it liked it is. While I voted for Biden, I am extremely unhappy with what has happened in Afghanistan. Taking troops out was the right decision and while I acknowledge that there could never be a smooth withdrawal, the way this went down was beyond expected and acceptable. Biden must shoulder the blame for a large majority of it. And what bothers me the most is that we played politics with our people's lives. We still have people there who want out. I don't care what it would have taken, nothing, NOTHING is more important than getting our people out. Let's not even talk about the many Afghanis who helped us who are now being left there to die. The idea that "we didn't know it would have gone this bad this quickly" is an admission of incompetence. You have access to the greatest intelligence in the world. They couldn't predict that government officials would flee and the Afghan military would just fold? How about all the military equipment left behind for the Taliban?
I'm not like most of the left-leaning folk in here. I can readily admit that Joe is nowhere near as sharp as he was even a year ago and based on what I've seen he shouldn't be anything more than a one term President. Don't get me twisted though, I firmly believe the previous administration was historically bad and many of us ran to and voted for Biden because we wanted "anything other than Trump."
