Why are the 100 semis and finals 90 mins apart? There is no way that's good for performance
You would be surprised actually. It warms them up, both mentally and physically. I guarantee that if you asked everyone in the 100 final if they prefer a single final on one day or the current setup they would say the current setup.
Atleast NBA people can shout at Noah with world champion of what? Hahaah
But, he is still 200m champion
I know they will keep saying it no matter what happens, but he literally won Olympic 100m gold last year. There is nothing anyone can say anymore. He's won. Secured his career and legacy.
We're experiencing extremely high traffic! World Athletics Championships Tokyo 25 is full on! We want to make sure you can still access the timetable below. The full version of our website will be back soon, after 15:00pm CET.
SMH this happens every major championships and they still don't improve their capacity.
Thought Grant's Stanford mind had evaluated the cost benefit scenario of getting a cup of water to extra distance run and deemed it unsatisfactory. Seems not
Yeah, did anyone see if he ever got water, that seemed risky to me.
Where was Mehary? Wasn’t he supposed to be in that race?
he's in the 5k
I wonder if Kejelcha as the current reserve will be brought into the 5k team to replace Kuma Girma. Great run from Kejelcha tonight and Kuma Girma was way off his best in his last race in Zurich
I think Nico could have medaled if he was in better position at the bell lap. He was boxed in and a little further back. Overall I liked how he sat back and didn’t yo-yo for the first part of the race, but he had to go wide and surge a couple times before fully kicking down the home stretch.
Fisher played it too safe, I understand that it’s hot out but I’m not sure why he left it to a kick with that many guys still in the race who have better kicks than him.
Nico positioning - definitely
Grant - as others have said, that was more of a fade than not having a kick. I think he planned to kick sooner like he has in the past (from 1k or so) but was feeling off, tried to just hold on to the increasing pace, and we all saw the fade at the end when he had nothing left. The question is why - training errors? illness? Heat impacted him more than others? Phase of the moon?
For a neutral observer it is so funny to see the American posters come with all kind of explanations for why the "favorites" don´t win.
Perhaps it is this simple:
Nico and Grant aren`t really so clear favorites as the American crowd has confirmed to itself.
The Ethiopians and some "random" Europeans might have a word to say too.
The ARROGANT, PRIDEFUL, EGOISTIC NOAH LYLES SHOULDN'T HAVE won any medal!!!
Anyway, Bronze suits him. He gonna be washed, wiped and dusted again in the 200M
🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
LOL. Noah’s bronze actually shows what a great championship performer he is. He’s been battling injury this year, so for him to come back and win bronze with his fastest time of the year is impressive.
Lyles also demonstrated class in defeat by congratulating the Jamaicans who beat him. You, on the other hand…
Jimmy Gressier winning gold is what happens when you run slower than the women’s 10000m WR. Absolutely gutless effort by the guys with the fastest 10k PBs - I know it’s hot, but heat doesn’t make you 2 1/2 minutes slower over 10k. Conditions were similar to Tokyo 2021 where they At least ran in the 27:40s.
I have thought Grant a great tactician up until USA’s since then…terrible choices.
At USA’s, he let Nico have hope & got bested in a sprint in the 10.
Didn’t control the 5 & let Nico do the work at the end while Hocker outkicked him.
It was confirmed in Zürich, when he “practiced closing” & got blasted by Gressier. & played out again here in this race.
In the past, he didn’t have the tools. He does now & he doesn’t use his head, his heart or his gut.
