EIGHT boys under 15 in division 2. I think that is a new record!

Woodbridge held on for second.
Matilda Torres 3rd
Dos Pueblos didn’t do as well as expected
Do you guys still think Woodbridge can still make NXN? What about as an at-large team?
Last year in the merge 1:17:12 was Glendora's team time and 1:16:37 was Menlo. Jesuit was first at 1:16:30.
This year Jesuit is already at 1:15:37. Woodbridge at 1:16:55 and Matilda Torres at 1:17:21.
Also in total last year only 5 teams below 1:18 while this year already 5 teams below 1:18 with only 1 division in. Going to be a fast year looks like
Yeah we’re off to a GREAT start!
Team time about 75:34. Only teams faster at the state meet are three NP teams. Historically fast race to start the day
If DII has 8 under 15 imagine how fast DI will be. The 10th fastest speed rating in DI is somewhere around 186 - 187 (that equates to low 15s to barely sub 15)
Is predicting Stephen Sziebert of Bellarmine as a sleeper D1 podium finisher a hot take? I predict Zavaleta, Lott, then Sziebert.
D3 has started! It’ll either be between Lomeli, Huato, or Hunter
Nope! Sziebert is the 7th fastest runner coming into DI plus he did run 15 flat at Clovis
21 runners under 4:50. Lomeli out in 4:48
At mile 1, Campolindo went out slower than Woodbridge did
In Division 3, Willow Glen of CCS definitely went out way too hard. Their top guys ran 15:30 at Crystal Springs and now are going out in sub-15 5K pace.
Through the mile Campolindo would have been 6th!?!? with a team time of 24:13 in the d2 race
Interesting to see how this plays out
to all future Woodward park racers: STOP GOING OUT TOO HARD IN THE FIRST MILE!
Jesuit ran 34 seconds faster than they did at Clovis
Huato out at 10:17, Lomeli following suit
I don’t think 10:17 would be fast enough for sub 14:50 but correct me if I’m wrong

Jesuit's track coach, Walt Lange, is probably up there with Doug Soles and (debatably) Sean Brosnan as the best XC/TF coaches in US High School history!
Oliver Hunter state champ, way to carry on the Noonan legacy
