i doubt 80,000,000 voters are 30%, then again, you have no idea why trumps poll numbers keep going up the more you freak out over his existence and try to stop the vote.
Firstly, he got 74 million votes in 2020. Rounding up to 80 million from 74 is the sort of math Trump uses all the time, so no surprises you copied him.
I pray that Republicans are dumb enough to make Trump their nominee.
He got smoked by Biden (306-232) and since then:
Led an attack on the U.S. Capitol, resulting in thousands of arrests and indictments, his followers sentenced from months to almost two decades in prison, endless images of people attacking the police that will be used in campaign ads against him...
Had a civil jury hold him liable for sexual battery and defamation...
The Supreme Court overturned Roe, as he promised his appointees would, which is going to crush his support among independent women...
Has been indicted by the DOJ in the documents case, and ALL the evidence points toward his guilt...
Has been indicted in New York for fraud in his business practices...
Is going to be indicted in Georgia for election interference...
Is going to be indicted for January 6th...
And SOMEHOW Republicans seem to think he is MORE electable than when Biden beat his brains out the first time?
Just to be clear, I’m not casting judgement personally on anyone in this thread. I happen to have Russian clients for many years. have shared drinks. trusted my children with them. some are now personal friends. they are fine people as I’m sure many of you are, but they are still communists. It’s a political ideology, not a personal attribute. and anyone who supports arresting the opposition leader over nonsense is no different. in America, we present 2 party leaders for the most part that have a 50/50 shot at winning and let voters decide. In communism, u get 1 and that’s how it is. and that’s the position you have now taken. you’re inner core has shown through.
Break the law and you're probably going to be charged with a crime.

And the funniest part:
"If they can do this to Trump, they can do this to you!"
Yes!
If you steal classified documents, refuse to give them back, move them around to hide them, lie about having given them all back, have the FBI find them while executing a warrant, etc., you WILL be indicted.
He announced that he was running for president after the investigation began and before he was indicted. Announcing a run for president makes him a candidate -- that is how candidate is defined.
Of course we care about the documents. People have been imprisoned for doing less than Trump did. And the cases for the others are different. Biden and Pence notified the Archives and the DOJ, invited those entities to investigate and take files as appropriate with no indication of lying or obstructing. No case was made for Obama improperly holding or lying about classified information. As for Clinton's 'socks' case, those documents were not classified.
With respect to Hillary, her server did have classified documents although most were classified retrospectively by the sending agency after Clinton received them. Trump's DOJ decided not to indict, probably because of proof issues (retroactive classification) and absence of compelling evidence of intent to obstruct. I think there was a 50/50 chance of a conviction, but the DOJ doesn't like to bring cases that don't have a substantial chance of a conviction.
Complete nonsense. You one-party only folks have tried to indict him as nauseum since 2016, including inside work by your cronies in the FBI/CIA and DOJ. it’s unprecedented because this country never used to be run like Cuba. Now it is. Proof issues baloney. Trump didn’t indict because the man himself said it’s not good to arrest her. No good American approves of this. It’s changed the country forever. You have emboldened people to support Democracy while you try to get rid of it over personal issues, mainly narcissistic. But you cannot. that man could be in the electric chair and whoever he endorses will get 80,000,000 votes. you just don’t understand Americans and Democracy. but you do understand who has control of the Supreme Court, and that bothers you tremendously. nobody on the right even cares about Trump, the man. but we will defend democracy and that’s what we are doing.
That post is a mess. Your solution to a former government official having classified documents in unsecured locations, lying about what he's got and refusing to return them is to do nothing if that person so long as he can be termed 'the opposition leader'. He wasn't investigated and indicted until he blew by multiple chances to just return the documents and provide honest responses.
Leave documents in unsecured locations? Do nothing?
Display them to people who don't have clearance? Do nothing?
If he were to sell them or give them to foreign persons/entities? Do nothing because he still is the opposition leader?
The vast majority of Trump supporters' positions boils down to believing (or just ignoring) his lies and scaffolding them up with their own lies (or, of course, for them, his lies are a feature rather than a bug, even if they don't believe the lie itself).
In a now-deleted thread, Asker of questions wrote: "Funny to how Trump was never considered racist until he ran for president as a Republican but people believe what their media tells them."
That's so self-evidently preposterous that it makes me wonder: Are these Trump supporters just disingenuously attempting to gaslight others, or are they really this ignorant?
Was he still registered as a Democrat when he began espousing his "birther" theories about Obama? I haven't checked the year-by-year records there, but I do know he was not a Republican presidential candidate when he started that.
You could look at his longstanding unwillingness to accept the DNA evidence and a perp's confession regarding the Central Park 5 case. Does his position on that make him a racist? I can't say for sure, but I know he has long been "considered a racist" by many for that stance. What about Fred Trump's and then Donald Trump's business practices involving Black prospective tenants over 50 years ago? There was sufficient concern that he was engaged in business practices on the basis of racist attitudes then. Can I say for sure that he's a racist or that he did anything illegal in that instance? No, but I'm aware that he was, yet again, "considered a racist." It seems to me that there was substantial concern about him being a racist for decades before he declared any candidacy for public office or publicly spoke about affiliation with the Republican party. I think it was publicized less because he's of a generation with a higher percentage of casual racism and lived most of his life in times when it was easier to hold racist attitudes without being publicly called out for it.
So yeah: If these Trump supporters are possibly convinced in the reality their cartoon caricature/straw man construction of other people; if everyone else actually were as dumb and awful as they make them sound, there might be some small space to make them want to defend Trump. But I find it better to stick to the facts.

This post is valuable or...rather could be valuable...to those who are not aware of the history of the Trump's in NYC and the knowledge of him is strictly as a "real estate developer" and/or reality series host.
Those of us from NYC seemed more inclined to simply not like the family for a variety of reasons which go far beyond the daily insults and bs laden speeches from Donald Trump.

If all things would go as planned without a hitch, then your idea there is solid. The problem is that what if Biden and Trump are the nominees and less than a week before election day, Biden has a heart attack and dies? There IS the slight chance that something like that could throw the election into doubt and us ending up with Trump as President again. The US needs to NOT have Trump get into the White House again. He's too dangerous...too big a threat to our democracy. I would much rather have ANY other Republican get into the White House over Trump. I think even DeSantis isn't so stupid as to get himself into the legal trouble that Trump has...because Trump has ZERO respect for laws or norms, and he's just a flat criminal.
I don't want to risk Trump getting back in again, so I'm going to hope that Republicans properly see him for the loser he is and nominate someone else.

What you’ve forgotten to mention is all that Biden and the left have screwed up since then. Trump may be the only candidate you have a chance to beat.

Meh. If Biden stays upright, he wins the election in 2024 no matter who the Republican candidate is. Democrats and many independents understand that the first two years of Biden's Presidency were perhaps the best first two years of any US President ever. You might not like what he accomplished, but he got a TON of things done for the American people in that short timeframe...it's actually quite amazing. The high inflation has not been good for him, but even that is coming down (and he was not responsible for it going up OR it coming down now).
I don't agree with Chris Christie on most of his views, but he's not a criminal or a dictator wannabe, so I could be ok with him being President. His problem is that Americans won't vote in a guy who is THAT fat. Trump is obese, but he's not AS obese as Christie.
Agree. I would be OK with a Republican Prez like Christie. Yeah, he has the stain of corrupt from his governorship and he sold out for Trump. Some say this entire Presidential Run for him is nothing more than payback to Trump for not giving him a position.
But he does not appear to be a guy that wants to dismantle democracy and destroy institutions nor have a retribution war the moment he gets elected. And he doesn't appear to have the culture war foolishness to him that all of Trump's freedom caucus have. They all sound the same.
Sadly, the very reasons that I would not have a problem with him are the very reasons he has zero chance of winning a primary. The GOP voter will not support what the Trump inner circle called the "normies". They are all gone. They want the crazy.
But he has a skill of making Trump look like an imbecile in front of Trump voters that would not typically get to hear it in their bubble. That is good theatre at least.

My thoughts, as well. When Kamala, at the last minute, loses to Trump, well.....
And the other side, of course, is Biden not stepping aside for a stronger Democrat....IF one could be found. Because when somehow Trump doesn't run and Biden is up against a less-Trumpy (but still too Trumpy) Republican (see DeSantis) and loses, well......

This is the problem with American (especially GOP) politics now. It is full of petty grievances and theater. It is "me and my party or you hate America!" Is there seriously no likable candidate in the GOP who can implement conservative plans without being a grifter / open racist / grievance politician? Oh, yea, and doesn't have multiple indictments for obvious crimes? Seems like it wouldn't be that hard.
"Aides said he talked about Ivanka Trump's breasts, her backside, and what it might be like to have sex with her, remarks that once led John Kelly to remind the president that Ivanka was his daughter," Taylor writes. "Afterward, Kelly retold that story to me in visible disgust. Trump, he said, was 'a very, very evil man.'"
I don’t like the guy, he’s not at all trustworthy, and he has lots of on-the-record stuff that makes this plausible, but that’s a serious enough accusation that it should be reported only with a clear record or substantial corroborating evidence/independent verification. I’m not going to leap to assuming this is true.

If it was anyone else I would say yeah but this dirtbag's got a track record:
When Donald Trump was watching his 16-year-old daughter Ivanka host the 1997 Miss Teen USA pageant, he turned to the then-Miss Universe and asked: “Don’t you think my daughter’s hot? She’s hot, right?” That anecdote, told to the New York Times by Brook Antoinette Mahealani Lee, appears to be the first recorded incident of the Republican presidential candidate and reality TV star making comments about his daughter’s body which those present have deemed inappropriate. In the almost 20 years since, Mr Trump has called his eldest daughter “voluptuous”. He’s said it’s OK to describe her as “a piece of ass”, though she is a senior executive in his business empire. And he’s said that, if she wasn’t his daughter, “perhaps [he’d] be dating her”.

The corroborating evidence that Donald Trump lusts after his own daughter is already in the public domain, it is on tape, and available for all to hear. You can also look at the photos of how he embraces, holds, and kisses her on the mouth.
I would never, under any circumstance, ever suggest that if my daughter wasn't my daughter, I would possibly be dating her.
And when someone asks if they can refer to her "as a piece of ass" I would not affirm that they can.
Trump did both, and more, regarding his "beautiful, voluptuous" daughter.
