Um, it was a Samaritan woman, not "Samarian" as there was no such race, but the point is taken though misused. The woman at the well was trying to stay with a husband but the husbands were divorcing her, probably because she was infertile as bearing children was a mark of honor and esteem among women of that time/culture and a prime reason for divorce. As a Samaritan she was half-Jew/half-Assyrian and they were hated by 'pure' blood Jews as compromisers and sell outs. The woman also represented sort of Israel's relationship to their Yahweh...always wanting to fall into the arms of surrounding nations and adapt their customs. But none would 'have' her. So the story is sort of God reaching out to Israel one last time to make her 'pure' again if she would accept Israel's "messiah" as a 'husband' who would not 'divorce' her. The story has nothing to do with a woman and her sex partners but the state of Israel being rejected by all her 'husbands' until she gave up and just lived with someone, anyone who would take care of her...until the messiah figure comes along and offers her help...is that what Suzy Hamilton is doing? Or is that what she needs? Not judging, just thinking out loud. The real question is Suzy another example that we are living in a Corinthian age? (Bible scholars will get that point).

And, if it is 'Christian' teaching to forgive based on the quote by Jesus you listed, follow through to the second part...shouldn't have Suzy gone and 'sinned' no more after she was outed and forgiven several years ago? Again, not judging, just thinking out loud. I remember this woman when I was in college in the 1990's and tend to believe she was probably one of the 'clean' athletes who just slowly improved with hard work. But if I remember right, she did like a swimsuit or swimwear calendar sometime back then, (late 90's?) while some other notable female track athletes posed for Playboy or some similar magazine (it was in the news back then)...so you have to wonder if her 'mental' problems were already showing up then, before all of the last few years stuff showed up. Anybody who has been in the spotlight of any kind probably has trouble letting it go: the attention, the adulation, the admiration people give you...because they attach their identity to it as though they can't 'live' without it. I have a friend trying to do the same thing in the music business: trying to create a persona and sell himself as something he is not (because he's not that good of a musician and can't seem to get that through his head)...he's gonna crash at some point...just like S. Hamilton...really crash because I agree with some other posters that she doesn't seem all that 'repentant' if I may borrow the word...and it will be the best thing because reality will fill the void where fantasy, illusion, and fabrication had set up camp. I could care less whether someone posts pictures of themselves naked. But the self-justification...that could lead to worse problems...

Suzy's mental illness is heartbreaking. She is broken and cannot fix herself. I doubt anyone else can either.

My wife was pretty hot back in the day, although not as hot as Suzy in her prime. She has a far better career than Suzy, who, near as I can tell, is now a yoga instructor and blogger living a luxe lifestyle only due to her wealthy Hollywood in-laws. I'll take my wife a thousand times out of a thousand over a drugged up hooker, even if she did happen to run fast around a track 20 years ago.
