Although it sounds disrespectful, this is true. And I’m sure most athletes who had to be taken from the meet because of a medical issue would not want the meet cancelled on their behalf. It sucks, but it is what it is.
I do really hope he is okay.

They are probably pushing it back to keep the professional athletes' events on schedule as much as possible after the incident in the men's 3000m

Field paramedics wouldn’t stop doing CPR on a young fit guy. They would for sure have kept working on him until the hospital.
Obviously very alarming and concerning but hoping for the best.
