Looks like my forecast from a couple of weeks back still looks pretty good. Might not be a heatwave death march, but much warmer and much more humid than optimal.

62 to 68 degrees with 68 being the high for the day. Starting in the low 60's is not that bad.

Twin Cities a much tougher course with the second half hills. Low 60s is fine but I'm concerned with the humidity. 60 and 90% humidity is really really tough for me. 60 with low humidity feels 100x better to me. If that humidity drops it'd be okay but right now the weather has me worried.

Running in temps anywhere around 60 degrees is totally fine. 70's the whole way is a different story and that's not going to happen. Grow a pair people!

Jim Cantore is predicting moonsoon conditions in Chicago on Sunday. It's going to be bad. Very bad folks.
Weather will be roughly 35 and rain at the start, with temperatures skyrocketing to 90 and high humidity about and hour and half into the race. Most hotels have a cancellation policy about 48 hours before the race, so if you need to cancel, now is the time to do it.
I also heard from some Fleet Feet runners that they are adjusting the course a bit. It's about a 26.7 mile course now because they make you go through a loop in the Ukrainian Village to avoid some construction. Nothing we can do about that. Shouldn't affect times though.

Last week we were seeing something too good to be true -- high 40s & low humidity. Over the weekend it was looking like low 60s & high humidity. Now it looks slightly better in the mid to upper 50s. I'm hoping we get start temps in the mid-50s. It'll be cloudy so no sun which is fine. The humidity looks rough but some of the patterns have it trending off of 90% and into the 70s. That wouldn't be the worst. It's looking pretty similar to 2017 NYC which I ran. It was 60 with 90% humidity. I felt fine the first half of the race but cramped up pretty bad in the last 5k of the race. I'll probably adjust to my B race plan, knowing that should be hard enough to try to hold.

This actually gives me back some confidence. I ran NYC 2017 and didn't remember the weather, but I know I was able to close hard with a negative split and didn't feel like I was dying. If Chicago matches that I won't complain.
I just expect about 2-3 seconds per mile difference in pace if we get to 60+ with any kind of humidity. It's not that big of a difference.
Andy, with your new goal time and your penchant for starting off slow and building momentum, what do you think you are going to go out in for the first couple of miles?
I had planned 5:45 for the first 5K, 5:40 through 10K, then 5:35 thereafter which is 2:27:00 if I can kick. However, if the weather is going to be ~60 degrees I'll probably stick with 5:40 pace through 25K which leaves me with 2:27 high. Even if I fade a little bit that gives me about a minute of buffer on my PR. I'm very confident that 5:40s won't blow me up, but not as sure about anything faster than that.
