Rupp is great, and clean, unlike 90% of E. Africans.
House of run podcast had Noah Droddy on a few months back and he revealed the Rupp is one of the least accessible athletes in T&F. Even as a fellow elite he couldn't even go up to him and shake his hand or engage in banter and the elites in general are very affable, know each other and have a sort of camaraderie and kinship. The difference in the way Rupp is handled or prefers to be handled is in stark contrast. So yeah until I meet him that's the opinion I'll have of him. Maybe if he runs the NYC marathon I'll get the opportunity.

Garbage. That is not a real statistic no matter how much you try to make it be. This is a country where the only indigenous people are Native Americans. Rupp is no more or less American than KK. KK is the American record holder. We can be excited about Rupp's run without having to get all white pride up in here.

I know I’m suppose to be excited. I’ve basically watched this guy grow up. But here’s a guy we want to pretend is an elite Marathoner running an offbeat marathon against an unimpressive field. Punic victory for a guy with all science can give you an probably a little more than competitive policies are trying to allow. I’d take his victories in Eugene anyday.

Not sure how many "2:04 guys" Rupp beat in Rio, Boston and Chicago and now Prague, but it's quite a few. How do we account for that? A lot of "2:04 guys" seem to come out of Dubai, but just can't seem to pull it off in head to head races.
I'd like to suggest that the moniker "2:04 guy" and "2:06 guy" doesn't mean that much; it's head to head competition that tells the story.
So now Rupp is a "2:06 guy". Well, he's finished 1st, 3rd, 2nd, 1st, DNF and 1st in his marathons so far, and beaten a number of "2:04 guys". What's the deal with that?
This is exactly why he needs to run in Berlin or London or wherever Kipchoge, Bekele et. al. are going to be.
