2. Start another thread castigating the Belgravians.

Why don't Serpentine run in the serpentine? Really they should be restricted to competing on the pedalos.

Well what is the restriction on Dorking Mole Valley? -Only race when Mole Hills are present within a valley? -mind you moles and mole hills tend to be shot at in Belgravia -or at least given a parking fine at a ridiculous rate of interest.

So, with the new season kicking off today which club is everyones money on?

- Kent to retain their title and take the county of Surrey yet again

- Have H/W signed up the entire cottage?

- Will Belgrave try and buy the title?

- A rejuvinated SLH could throw a suprise?

So many possibilities, which club has been busy in the close season?

The anticipation, the drama, tension, the geographical arguing...

In terms of off-season signings, I heard that Kent have bagged a cracking Paralympian to boost their squad.

I'm not sure of the guy's name, but he is braver than ten firemen, or a dozen policemen. Four years ago, he lost his hand in a cake-cutting machine. He managed to walk 400 yards, holding his hand in his other hand, where he hailed a taxi. One can only imagine what that must have looked like. The quick thinking taxi driver drove him to a newsagent, where the hand was packed in Soleros, Magnums, Mini Milks and a Feast. After six hours of surgery, the hand was sown back on. Sadly, it didn’t work, so off it came again. But he still had one good hand, and he was damned if anyone was going to take that off him. No one was suggesting they were going to do that. Anyway, the point is, four years later, he is running for Kent AC, and is ready to help them bring home XC glory.

Peter Clarke was seen circling Richmond Park earlier in the week telling people “On Saturday I’d just like to fly a helicopter all around the course, you know, swoop down over a field. Scare a donkey so that it falls into a river. Hover over one of those annoying families that go on holidays on bikes. And shout at them “get out of the area!” and watch them panic!” He will probably be seen abusing Kent runners later today as they push for a 7th successive title whilst he tries to attack them with a drone..

It is sad the tactics some people will resort to.

What a year it’s been for Kent AC. Maybe you’re here tonight with a wife, or an old flame. But what is, the burning issue? Hit your targets or you’ll be, fired. But today is also about fun. Have you all got your fun packs? I’ve got one here. I’ve dropped it. I’ve got a list, here. It should contain a torch, a Curly Wurly, a book of stamps, a free digital watch with denim strap, a vodka miniature, a BIC-style razor, a copy of the Daily Express… ooooh, it’s a good paper.

That aside, those guys can run fast.

Are H/W possibly the most bitter club to be located outside of Surrey?! Even Belgrave aren't that bitter (although people do tend to say money can't buy happiness).

Hades Wimbledon are so bitter that apparently Fullers London Pride are going to be their new sponsor for next season. The sponsorship should be enough to pay for new training kit so they don’t have to warm up in their red and yellow pyjamas.

The name Fuller rang a bell, and brought memories of famous Mike Fuller, stalwart top gunner in Hw in the 70s, with bests of 3.55, 8.13, 14.17, 29.22, 1.44.

Looks like some classic tailgating by Kent. THH showing some depth, but it already looks like a 2 horse race. One inbred, expensive, badly endowed stallion competing against the proverbial peoples horse, tired from the weeks work down the foundry. 30 points adrift, a challenge for the season ahead.

Interesting results. The first athlete home was from the 'mighty' Kent with their latest transfer but apparently the small local club Hercules have half of their squad away on a business trip according to Belal Ahmed.

Perhaps they are scouting the world for some new additions to their squad to take on the other half of the Kent squad that will be back for the next Surrey League. I can't imagine any of the Kent squad away on business trips, perhaps down the mines?

Personally, i think they should scrap the results for this race because it was too hot and half of the 2 leading squads were apparently missing. Keep it in your pants lads, it's too early for the willy waving.
