Agree with most of what's been said, and would like to reinforce the STFU rule. There's a guy at the gym I go to who talks WAY TOO LOUDLY with seemingly everyone, usually about last night's game. Of course, attractive ladies get the majority of his attention. This is a large chain gym, and you can hear him from one side to the other. His flapping his gums to working out ratio must be 10 to 1.

Learning from his annoying example, I've made it a point to not say more than hello to anyone, and even then only to speak when spoken to. If I can get in and out without saying a word, perfect.

That doesn't excuse guys acting like animals. Yes, a woman's workout gear is going to be more revealing than her office wear. That doesn't give us the green light to treat them like objects. A real man (sorry Flagpole) doesn't do that.

And these days we are supposed to treat them like objects, we're just supposed to treat them like objects no matter what they look like. That's the body-positive, non fat-shaming approach.

Anyone who says that women should not be treated like objects is "slut-shaming". Feminism used to say that women shouldn't be sexually objectified but that's archaic now. Now every woman should be sexually objectified by all sexes and genders.

Unfortunately, depending on the area of an upscale gym, you will see a few ladies all decked out i.e. Make up, hair styled and laced up leggings...no kidding!

In my humble opinion, I feel like the gym is a place to workout not to pick up a date. So guys stop undressing us with your 👀's, especially the women who are ACTUALLY there to workout. Enough said.

People "acting like animals?" What planet are you from? Humans are barley domesticated and act like wild animals all the time. We fight first and talk later. Many gyms are just an atmosphere of comfortation & discontent between the human animal.

A little pice of advice for disgruntled low wage workers, don't get mad at the clientele. They aren't the one's underpaying you.

Trust me, I've worked way too hard for way too little money before. Once you're at work, you're there so you might as well work hard and try to smile. Maybe something good will come of it, maybe not. On the other hand, being a crappy worker at a crappy job is a surefire way to become chronically unemployed.

As for working at a gym, there are hundreds of job that have worse conditions and bleaker outlook so I wouldn't act like a Russian peasant just yet.

Regarding hitting on women in the gym, if you have any game at all, you know that you shouldn't have to make the first move.

If a woman is interested it will be obvious - eye contact, she makes the first move, etc.

If you have to say anything besides hello to try to hold her attention, you are doing it wrong.

Every girl won't be into you, but leave the ones that aren't alone. And know enough to figure out which ones want you to talk to them.
