Eastern Oregon University is looking for a interim Jumps/Sprints Coach. Pretty good pay and good program.

who did uconn hire? what job did it open up else where?

Columbia has completed their hire, so has St. Louis. Both young females.

its a womens game now. forced diversity is the best.

This is total BS, all it takes now to get a coaching job in this sport is to be a woman.

Any clue what happened at Mercer? Volunteer sprint coach takes over after a semester and old coach stays on but only as men's XC coach? Seems weird

Crybaby!!

Listen, for years women have been unable to attain head coaching positions because of the combining of programs. I was a huge advocate of keeping programs separate so women could become head coaches. Instead, colleges decided it was cheaper to combine programs and put even more of a burden on a single coach having to oversee two programs.

Can you imagine doing this in basketball? No. Women coaches are not only qualified, they are often more invested in the sport than men. I certainly don't need to name names of men head coaches that did more than run a track program.

Reading that release from Mercer elicits some questions.

"Over the course of his college career Wims earned NCAA All-America honors four times, was a three-time USA Olympic Trial Qualifier, was a two-time Pan American Games Qualifier (2005, 2007)."

Just when did Wims ever qualify for the Olympic Trials, or the Pan Am Games? There were no Pan Ams in 2005, and no record of him having a Trials qualifying mark at any point.

So who will coach women's distance during track season?

The Columbia hire has a few years of D1 experience, not a complete noob.

first sentence of the article says WORLD CHAMPION SPRINTER................then the last sentence of the article clarifies - world champion at the World Police and Fire games.

no clue about olympic trials and his other claims. should be easy to fact check, you only have 2008, 2012 and 2016 to look at and he claimed he qualified in all 3

He is neither a world champion sprinter nor an Olympic trials qualifier. He is a world champion liar though. Time to write an email to Mercer's AD. More quality institutions hiring more quality individuals...

Exactly! That's why nearly 80% of all tfxc coaches in the NCAA are women now. Friggin majority.
