Anyone noticing how different it is to watch a DL meet versus the Olympics. In a DL, I pretty much only care about who wins. At the Olympics, everyone is celebrating the third placer.
If Rupp runs 2:10 in NY and places third in NY, people dont go ga-ga over it on letsrun.com.
It's because of those silver/bronze consolation medals they hand out at the Oly games.

Track may be the only sport in which the olympians are not all going home and celebrating. These comments prove why a medal is so great. I actually respect him more for lining up. Where is the south African 400 guy?
Van Dopenkierk went home to SA and canceled the rest of his season according to the announcers.
Yeah, like that's not suspicious...
Geez, he's in 42.9 shape, and he goes home to the hell hole of SA...instead of making a fortune on the 2nd half of the DL.
I think some posters here think that Rio is in Europe and it was just a short trip for Centro and Merritt, and Prandini and company to "pop over" to Switzerland to finish the season...
He'll prolly need a few more pints after that whooping. To go from getting a fluke gold medal to 3 seconds back in a 1k. I can't think of anyone in history winning an Olympic title and then a week later being beaten that badly. Correct me if someone can think of that happening in the past.
2:16 is a good time; 2:13 is micro-epo

This sort of statement is just wrong. So the only people that can offer any evaluation of an athletic performance are those that have done better. Are the only ones qualified to criticize presidential candidates those who have run for president?
Elite athletic competitions involve people that have enormous talent and are well trained. That doesn't preclude people who don't have that talent from being knowledgeable. Heck, Centro's coach has never run under 2:20. Does that mean he can't talk to him about the race?

Geez, the guy just won a gold medal 5 days ago half way around the world. I think it's to be expected that he had a bit of a let down for this race.

No, only those who have run for president and won. Not those who went home devastated.

It doesn't matter,I have run sub 2:20 for 1k. So now the guy posting under the name Sam Kendrick and the real Sam Kendrick will both go home DEVASTATED!
Was the attendance filling a greater proportion of seats than the Rio Olympics?
On the day you were pooped out, your parents went home DEVASTATED. They continued in that DEVASTATION ever since. In that regard, you could be the long lost Blojo triplet.

Let's see. He didn't sleep for 2 nights.
And according to the announcer, he's dad's been taking
him out drinking every night since Saturday, and showing
off the Gold Medal, LOL.
Still, compared to all the other American athletes who dashed on home... Centro and some others headed to Europe and are racing like professionals.
Unless you've run under 2:20 in the 1k. SU.
Centro has said he doesn't drink.
This was not a 1500m. He pr'd at an off-distance a few days after winning our first gold at 1500m in 108 years. Now it is time to bash him??? It has historically been very tough to run fast after the Olympics and World Champs, though some have done it. Souleiman just did it, as did a few others in 2:13/14. Of course Souleiman by TdF rules would be banned because of his coach being caught with illegal peds. But let's see what Centro can run at 1500m. He has stated that his goal is to get the American record, which is 3:29.30. That would be a true feat. By the way, too bad the Makh Daddy wasn't in this race, because if anything he is even better at this distance than Souleiman, having run 2:13.09 with maybe a too slow pacer last year. As for Kiprop, I don't know what kind of form he is in, but he has got to start running races more aggressively.

Can you run 1000m on hate? Is it too far?

Does he not drink at all or just not during his build up and racing phase?
Major x4, Centro does in fact drink. I hope that doesn't leave you DEVASTATED.

Niyonsaba looked really happy after picking up $10,000 today.
Yeah I bet.
He would not have won anything in the men's race.
FI has run 1:47 for the 800m this year. I suppose his race yesterday
is equivalent to 1:46 low?
Kiptilit does it again. If that guy improves - at all - in the next two years, nobody will be competing with him. 300 out, I could see him thinking he had Souleiman, but holding back... he should have went, he would still have faded but might have had the lead and for sure would have got a faster time.
Niyonsaba gets treated unfairly because of Semenya. She is a thickly built woman - mainly due to being short - but doesn't look like a dude, any more than Chanelle Price does. She looks like an ordinary female sprinter.
