You can see the logic the system we are using uses. It has Gonzaga getting in over Michigan State on common opponents at spot 24. Now the deal is this year Gonzaga and Michigan State both tied in meets this year. We're running it both ways with the ties to see if that changes something.

Our women's projected field is different than Flotrack's. We're still trying to finalize our field, but the difference seems to stem from the #23 spot. Flotrack has Michigan State getting in at that spot; we have San Francisco (pushed by Gonzaga).

The reason we have Gonzaga getting in over Michigan State is because Gonzaga wins a series of tiebreakers over a bunch of teams with points. The entire scenario is pasted below.

Where I think we differ from Flotrack may have to do with how we interpreted two tied scores -- Michigan State tied with Princeton at Wisconsin (the official results list Princeton ahead, as do ours, but Flotrack results here have Michigan State ahead

Then there was a tie at the West Coast Conference meet between Gonzaga and BYU. The results list Gonzaga as the winner, which means they have a win over BYU. This allows them to win the common opponent tiebreaker over Princeton (after Princeton won the head-to-head vs Michigan State) since BYU beat Princeton at Wisconsin.

If you put MSU ahead of Princeton at Wisconsin and throw out Gonzaga's win over BYU at WCCs, then we project the same field as Flotrack.

Bottom line: it's a mess at 23 as a bunch of teams have one point and our program broke the tie differently than Flotrack's.
