Andrew Rock's Olympic Gold medal isn't good enough to merit inclusion as world class?

How about Brian Sell's performance in the 2008 Olympic marathon? Were only the top 21 finishers that year world class?

With the exception of McGeary and Geno, it seems like the course ran 30-40 seconds slower than the week before.

In 2003, Jeremy Scott made a world indoor team (and choose to compete there instead of D3 indoor nationals that year) in the pole vault. Made the Olympic team 9 years later...that must have been due to his one season of D1 competiton after he transferred after graduating from allegheny...

23:51 from Williams's Colin Cotton in 2nd. first in 23:44 from St Olaf. Not that many D1 boys run sub 24.

D3 competition is running a lot faster than back in the 1990s, reflecting the much greater national distance running depth at the high school and college levels.

How can you say NCC would get destroyed? They are a very high mileage program, maybe they would be even better with the 10k. I am saying at least top 20 in D1. Is that by any stretch great or elite? No. They are D3. They would be 2nd place in D2 so why even bother imagining them in D2 when they are a solid 2nd place year in and out. Now, how would Adams State do in D1? Top 15. You are sleeping on NCC. I don't like NCC, but I'm not going to be an idiot and say they would be top 40 or 50 D1 like some guys on here. They are good.
