Won a Cross race in '76 with a Tiger Pinto on 1 foot and an Addidas Country on the other.
Gun went off as I was changing into my racing flats. Pop pissed his pant after greeting me at the end of the chute.
Won a dozen or so more over the next 8 years but that was my first W and the 1 I remember most vividly.
I'm still in high school but I've won 3 races in my life. An 800 and mile last track season and a 10k in November. I've gotten 2nd place at least 40 times in my life, ranging from league meets in track to invitationals in XC to road races.
The 10k was my first road race win ever. All around good race right after XC season, I dropped a 34:30, won by 2 minutes and by accident they gave me the female overall winner medal. -__- Hey, at least it was a memorable win....right?

If I had realized most people didn't go to megaschools, I would have phrased the OP differently. Now everyone is bragging about their high school careers, which would be a great success if I were trolling.

don't know if those count but I ran down older guys both times.

I really don't know, but probably around 100.
What put it all in perspective for me was after winning a hilly 5 mile Turkey Trot in 24:22 against some good people, I was feeling pretty good at Thanksgiving dinner at a friend's home. A past NYC marathon winner told me, "if you run long enough, you will beat everyone, and everyone will beat you."
Sadly I haven't really "won" a track or cross country race since high school, unless you count a slow eat at a little college dual meet, which I don't.

Bad Wigins, that is a fair enough point. Since everyone's high school careers differed so much, a 4:20 miler could have had 80 wins at one small school, or 10 wins at another big school. Or have a really talented teammate that caused a lot of second places.
For me, I had 63 wins in high school at a medium school in VA (a lot of easy wins a dual and tri meets).
37 wins in college (mostly track races, heat wins don't count) at an ACC school.
So far I have 7 wins post-collegiately (half serisously competitive races, half local races)
If local 5ks and highschool are included, easily in the 50+ range.
Going back to elementary school…
2 wins (300 meter run and 400 meter run, at city meets for my grade/age group)
Junior High
1 win (7th grade 800 meters; 2:40 - I recall the 1500 was pretty stacked at that meet, leaving the 800 wide open)
High School
1 JV XC win
4 Varsity XC wins
0 track wins (but plenty of second place finishes - stuck around 10:50 for 3200 most of the time, got down to 10:20ish for a few peak races)
College
0 XC wins
2 track wins + 1 track first in heat (none of these were my best times
1 half marathon
2 road 5ks
Post College
2 track wins + 1 track first in heat (again, generally not my PR's, although one was pretty close to mile PR with a win in 4:17)
6 road 5ks (that I can think of now - mostly in the 15:40-15:55 range)
1 15k win
So I guess it looks like about 20 times, depending on how you count it. I may have missed a race or two - also, it seems like a lot of my best races have put me in 2nd-6th place; it is pretty special when you can have a great race and also win!
