the sweet spot for IGF-1 LR3 in distance running is obviously the shorter

middle distances as seen in mens races if have the nessary starting level and endurance .BUT still not quite getting to

record level as records heavily dependant on endurance side

where extra speed can be put to use ,like rupp ,farah ,kiprop.

for women not as advantageous to sprints in terms of breaking records as cant give them the neassary strength that chronic roids gave to them , but i think more

advantageous to middle distance in womens again if have the endurance

they are the weaker sex and reflected in how handle distance ,

form goes etc, due to lack of strength and nessary hormones

to accomodate this ,roids not option for longer distance as

dont work ,to heavy, stress organism ,effect endurance .

antything over 800m .

SO IGF-1 LR3 CAN fill this void and perfect wont stress body

or effect endurance and can hold form ,extra strength ,

igf levels that would probably be very low from distannce work for all ,now topped up and kept up reflected in

weaker sex now having stronger distance records.

The layman might not see it that way and think there are huge differences, for instance Mary Cain vs. G Dibaba, but in fact they run almost identically. The Chinese women had a very irregular style where they returned their feet very low across a huge arc.

Well, some of these folks are about due for a new one, I suppose. The old 'well look how relaxed they are' or 'look at their smile' seems to have lost its edge.

It's a shame that anytime someone runs a fast time you hobby joggers suspect they are dirty! As it has been mentioned, these indoor tracks now adays are very fast, she had 9,000 screaming people cheering her on, she is young and can recover very quickly. Give her the benefit of the doubt and don't be so jealous just because most of you naysayers couldn't run that fast on your best day!

100% BS. You don't know any physics. And top coaches don't see things much differently than laymen. As JD showed 20 top coaches couldn't tell the difference in economy between runners based on their form.

The 800 isnt nearly as aerobic as everything else above it. 800s don't feel good no matter what.

JD was presenting them with a trick question given that "economy", as defined by physiologists, is not a top determinant of why races are won when glycogen sparing is not an issue.

Mary Cain is the 3rd fastest youth 800m runner of all-time, behind two chinese girls that ran their marks in a very suspicious place and time.

So you are right she is not a WR holder, but she is among the best of the best.

Unfortunately we live in an era where a huge percentage of great athletic performances are tied to doping which is frustrating and extremely disappointing. Even if a performance is clean it will still be under a cloud of suspicion due to the fact that doping is so prevelant.

Too many great athletes have posted amazing times only to be busted for drugs later. I love the sport but I don't think we will ever know if an athlete is truly clean or not. Clearly drug testing only catches a fraction of the cheats and until they come up with a miracle test that 100% ensures the athlete is clean every performance is going to fall under a cloud of suspicion.

Her family is a group of almost-certain dopers run by euro doctors. Her build is built for speed? I see lean lanky girls all the time - not many are running sub 8:20 indoor 3ks.

If she was asian/arab she would immediately be totally written off as a doper. Instead she is a 'natural talent'.

I was trying to avoid jumping in on this because I was not sure what to make of Genzebe's 3000m performance and I am still trying to put it into perspective.

First off, the indoor 1500 record was somewhat weak when you look at historical data. And, I knew the 3k record was going down based on Genzebe's recent 1500...no surprises there.

Second, Genzebe's did not come from out of no where and started setting WRs. When you look at her performances over the last 2 years, you can clearly see that Genzebe's was an incredible athlete, but she wasn't as prominent on the radar screen because she had underperformed in several big races. Let's not forget that Genzebe won the world jr 1500 at age 17 and came back the next year and won the world jr XC and the 5k at age 18 and 2 years latter she won the world indoor 1500 at age 21.

Third, when you look her marks from 16-17, the talent and potential was undeniable. Imagine having Mary Cain 800/1500 type speed and having world class 5k and XC endurance. Obviously having great genes and training partners don't hurt as well.

Mary Cain is probably capable of running a 4:05 1500 right now, would anyone be surprised if she improved by 10 seconds from age 17-22? That would be no different from a high school girl running a 4:50 mile in high school and running sub-4:40 in college...it happens all of the time. With all of that said, there is a bad track record when it comes to world class female athletes having major performance improvements from year to the next.
