Labron is built like an NFL TE or DE; he's simply too big to run a sub-5 mile. Most sub-5 mile guys I see are generally slender with smaller body types and most under 200 lbs, not 6-8, 250 like the King.
He'd easily crush sub 6 though. Keep in mind he was clocked at over 20 mph at the very end of Game 7 of the NBA Finals when he made that chase down block on Iguodala. That was on supreme fatigue. He has tremendous burst speed, all he has to do is just slow it down to pace himself for the mile.
To say he's an exceptional athlete is still an understatement.

I wouldn't say none of the NBA could do it. Some of the guards probably could. Some of them only weigh about 160 pounds. I have some memory of reading a few years ago that Richard (Rip) Hamilton had done it quite easily.
In this vid, he runs up and down the court 4 times. That’s about 250 meters and it takes him about 50 seconds. That converts to about 80 seconds for 400m or around 5:40 for the mile. Granted, he was taking wide turns and dunking the ball at each end, but it didn’t look like he could go much further at that pace.
