Borza was born on April 12th. Yep, that's pretty much 9 months. He may have been one or two weeks early.

Actually the 800 final was on July 26th. That's 37 weeks and one day before April 12th. So Borza may not have been early after all since gestation period is 38 weeks, since Ovett was surely in Moscow on July 20th. At most Borza was early by 5 days, since the rumor is that Borza's conception happened on July 25th.
Anyway, I would need to see a DNA test to convince me that the rumor is false.
They look too much alike. That smile that Ovett has on the Life magazine is one of a proud father with his son and not one of a guy with some other guy that only achieved (at best) what he himself has also achieved.

This isn’t made up it is actually true. His head is a bit too big for his ability and dedication to the sport. He is very inconsistent in racing and talk of him being a way better athlete now is bull. He ran a 1.55 for 800m yesterday in Brisbane and his PB of 1.52 was either late 2010 or 2011. Yes I understand he may have had a bad race but nonetheless, it will be good to see what he can run at the Brisbane Track Classic this week. Whether he runs well or not is up to him, he has the ability to run well but his attitude going about it is terrible, thinking he is too good.
Try not to put pressure on the lad. Remember he is only a junior and only wants to put himself in a position to run well in the future. Even if you don't like him, don't judge his attitude, unless you are very close with him? Anyways I'm sure his father knows how to keep that in check. I feel sorry for the kid, he really does have it tough being Steve's son and having so much more attention wherever he goes, only he knows what that's like, none it us have any idea what it would be like, give him some time to learn to deal with it.
I have heard from people who know him well that he is arrogant, and not an approachable person. Its nice to be great, but far greater to be nice..
I like judging people for myself and not taking other people's opinion. Please don't form an opinion or help other people form an opinion when it may not be necessarily be true. Aussie Witness seems to think he's a good kid, but again, I won't be taking his word either, I will take my own.

Ovett is in company at Oregon. He is coached by folk hero Vin Lananna. He'll be rubbing shoulders with pros the like of Matt Centrowitz, Ashton Eaton, Nick Symmonds and Andy Wheating. His teamates will include Russell Hornsby (son of the famous musician), Jordan Hasay (probably one of the most famous young American female runners), Luke Puskedra (now listed as one of the all time great 1/2 marathon collegians), Mike Berry (WC medalist), Elijah Greer (NC finalisgt), Alex Kosinski (gorgeous), Mac Fleet (rising to the top of American collegiate milers), and on and on. If he is arrogant, he'll lose that pretty quickly at Oregon.
Paul Williams, former Canadian 5000 (13:20) and 10000 (27:50) record holder, had kids with Lynn Kanuka (Bronze medal in 3000m in 84 Olympics (800 2:00.2)1500 (4:00.5) 3000 8:37 and 5000 15:30 have 2 fast kids:
Jack 1:53 800 3:53 1500 8:40 3000 in HS and daughter Alison 2:13 for 800 as a 15 yr old.
