For a second, lets assume that everyone does drugs (even though I believe that KennyB, Geb, et al are clean). We should still look at the fastest runners lifestyles and training to see what sets them apart from from the other runners. Or is my logic flawed
No, not flawed. But you assume that many people do drugs, not just those who have a chance.
I say that since we can't tell whether athletes are on drugs or not (for the most part), we should just marvel that they can run 12:37 under ANY conditions. A drug-assisted 12:37 is still a 12:37, which is an incredible effort.
