Saugus wins CA state title

A few years ago, when Hasay went to Oregon, a bunch - and I mean a bunch - of people who were probably not close to the Stanford program came on here and made Stanford look terrible with their terrible attitudes. that was a shame for Stanford. Right now the same thing is happening to Saugus. The people claiming to defend Saugus have little to nothing to do with the program. They are just people who like to bitch. The true players in this situation, runners, coaches and parents, are all good with each other on Simi and Saugus sides. There is another thread about the Saugus legacy where every small criticism of Paragas is met with a near attack. These are also not people involved with Saugus closely. The people responding in that way here are the same people who scream "leave Britney alone!" As letsrun threads go, with few exceptions, this has been a good one. The facts came out, opinions were discussed and most kept it civil. Go Simi, Go Saugus, Go Nike for doing the right thing in this instance.

Simi will get invited to NXN as the #2 at large because Nike only cares about having the best at their meet and they will not pass up a chance at Baxter. Coach Evans is not stupid, if they dont extend an offer to his team, Baxter goes to Footlocker. If I'm Redondo, I'm the happiest team on the planet. They get pushed in by Simi!

Because of the DQ redondo goes to NXN! Without it CA only gets 1 at large and redondo misses. Congrats Coach Paragas, you have once again rescued CA from it's own failings. You truly are one of the best coaches in the country. Anyone who can win that race with the scrubs you started with this year. Damn. You are awesome!

Post. I think this is why Saugus fans are quickly becoming the most hated group in California cross country.

There was a little elbow contact by the runners. You haven't attended too many races if you haven't seen it before. I wonder what the Saugus gal was saying as she pointed her right hand at the Simi runner on the ground?

Look at the leg turn over again and see who had a little more in the tank at the end. When another video is posted, perhaps perspectives will change.

Jauregui was 12 seconds behind Barr at the 2.1 mile mark.

The DyeStat video is now posted but it doesn't show the finish line and only some of the run-up to the line. Rich Gonzalez does mention a collision in his commentary.

Look for the D2 girls race.

Wow! Like all the other Saugus girls, Jauregui had an amazing finish. To close that much with less than a mile remaining is very impressive. Let's talk about all the positive things that happened and stop with this Jauregui/Barr thing. Both programs have a lot of respect for one another, as read in the papers, so drop it. Stop making false accusations on the two runners, only they know what really happened.

Thanks for posting that video. It was a good race. Redondo had good grouping, but it's five not four. I'm sure everyone gives it all they can in a final. I think I heard that Obama is going to have another beer summit (as he did in 2009 for the cop and professor at the White House ) for the Saugus/Simi runners. This time it will be root beer.
