I always thought LeBron James in the NBA always has looked about 5-10 years older than he really is. If you see his face on an interview or close up, his nose and forehead and cheeks look like he's 35 or nearly 40. And even as a kid in the NBA, he always looked like he was 30, and I'm talking about his face and head, not his beastly height and weight.

Reality is the guy was born on 10 JAN 1994 (which could be a lie for records as Passports are about $50-$100 in Ethiopia) on the Ethiopian Calendar, which was 1987 for the rest of us, so at the very least he is 26 this past January. When it comes to athlete's being Juniors, the Jan birthdates are always suspicious in the first place so my best guess, the guy was born in 1987 on the Ethiopian Calendar or 1980 on the rest of the world's calendar and is actually 33 years old.

This is typically East African Federation stuff, Fasan Baha from Tanzania ran the half marathoner world Junior record at 19, but has 3 kids, 13, 11, and 9 because he was actually 29 years old when he ran that first sub 60 Junior Half Marathon.

I would bet Aman has 2-3 kids over 10 year old and he is supposedly 19, this is stupid or East Africans can reproduce at 10 years old.

My wife and I hosted exchange students for 5 years. Many students were as old as they needed to be to be in the program. Birth dates on passports from other countries are what the person says they are. We hosted a guy that claimed to be 19, he was 15 - 16 years old. He lived in a town/village with a couple of hundred people, both of his parents were illiterate. His mom didn't give birth to him in a hospital, she gave birth to him at home, there were no hospital records, no record at the "court house". So when it came time for him to get a passport, guess what ... he provided his birth date which, conveniently, allowed him into the ESL program.

I'm one of those who think so-called age cheating isn't as big an issue, but you have to wonder why Aman's no longer improving from his peak of last year. Same goes for Kaki, people are plateauing very early in the careers.
