You've also got to look at the last year or so. Matt Rand has had huge year, going from not even making nationals in cross last fall to be All American in the 10k and running 30'26. Schmidt has also run a fast 10k (30'38) and 14'27 for 5k. Dilts has no results from 2011 track (eligibility, injury?) and Tully has only broken 15'00 once (14'48). Dilt's PR is also over 15'00, though it's older so that could be irrelevant. Still, I think that Rand and Schmidt will be fighting for the title. At this point, I'd have to give Rand the nod, as he has the confidence of being undefeated by D3 runners so far. Either way, it'll be a good race and I expect both to be AA at nationals.

If the course is fast (dry), expect 24'10-30 to win it.

Wright and Leduc from Conn have been doing pretty well. But I agree, the Canadian kid has not lived up to the hype.

Midd to style on everybody come post season.

Yeah, Hannan and Dilts won't be with Schmidt and Rand. I'd give it to Schmidt on a harder course like Mt. Greylock, but I think Rand might have the upper hand at Bowdoin.

Dilts didn't run XC as a frosh, so he took the spring semester off so as to finish up at Bates this fall and use his last year of XC eligibility.

Coby put on a clinic at the state of Maine championship. Went out very conservatively and then worked his way through the field. Don't know what the times were, but my guess is slow because of how muddy the course was.

bates wins with 23 points, Bowdoin in second in the 40's.

Women, Colby beats Bowdoin by 3 points.

Times were pretty fast especially considering the conditions.

For those times at Pineland and the very very sub-par conditions, those are some absolutely moving times. Very impressive by those guys this weekend.

MIT did not do too hot. Hopefully this does not hurt the rest of our region. Thanks a lot nerds

I don't know, Bates only had a 1-5 spread of 21 seconds off of a sub-26 on a tough, muddy course. I would have to say that UWisconsin is the better team right now with their 2 second spread off of a 23:46...

How about Horowitz? If he can sack up at Regionals on his home course, he could be a real contender.

Horowitz ran the race perfectly, the front pack went out a bit to fast through the first mile, he progressed nicely over the last four with a decent last mile. Just to get an idea of how bad the course was, the fastest last mile was around 5:15. Very slow course, compared to past races. Looking at the last time NESCACS was held there the times were = to that of faller and kosgey for the top 7... Just some food for thought. Vallo is looking strong as well.

How the hell is MIT still ranked second in the region... Williams, Tufts, and Bates Should be ahead of them after their terrible performance at Oshkosh... What is the region thinking???

Perhaps Oshkosh only revealed the fact that New England and the Mid-Atlantic are not as strong as the midwest...

While this is true to an extent, it was still a poor showing on MIT's part. They narrowly beat NYU, who is still ranked behind Genesco and St. Lawrence, and who lost pretty handily to Williams and Middlebury earlier this season.

Don't forget Bates beating SLU and Geneseo by 20+ points, The new england region should have 5 teams in the top 15, MIT shit the bed and I wont be surprised since that is our last inter-regional competition if we get 4 teams because they were complete idiots. They don't deserve to go if 4 teams are chosen from NE.

we'll just have to see who #5 is at regionals.... it'll be fun : )
