Who pays for Centrowitz to chase the standards

You clearly have never competed at anything more intense than a high school state meet or college invitational. The guys is chasing a time and this is VERY stressful racing.

The guy is going to compete against the very best runners in the world...he isn't going to Euro Disney Land.

The problem I have with your whole "hunt for answers" is that you seem intent on proving he CAN'T do this, and have quoted the rule book, except for the relevant parts, thereby Rule 12.1.2 which talks at length about where money can come from legally.

Basically, ANYONE can pay for it, so long as they amount to actual expenses.

Broken down for your blockbuster brain, the Diamond League events can specifically sponsor him to their events, as can Nike, Oregon, USATF, and USOC.

Once again, there is a DEFINED idea of "preferential" which he DOES NOT FALL UNDER, as he has EARNED a World's experience.

To the original post, and original question... You'll have to ask Centrowitz himself to see who is footing the bill, but I've given you the options. There's nothing more to see here.
