You do realize that someone has already said that, don't you?

So you're not up to par then, right? Keep trying, those big words will give you confidence yet.
Gotta admit after reading that RT article I had 2 thoughts...
This Jay Johnson dude is an idiot.
The guy who wrote this article needs to take a journalism class.
Disclaimer...I have no alterior motive or relationship with either Wetmore or Johnson.
Have you ever talked with Mark and Jay? While I have never had a long conversation with Heather she seems closer to the Jay side of things. Granted I have not run in the CU program, but based off of personality alone I would figure that all the posts about Jay being an excellent recruiter are right, and Mark being inept, or maybe haven given up entirely. Jay is a fun person to be around. Mark is hard to talk to and stand off ish, Heather comes across as a Marine drill sergeant in female runner form.
Disclaimer: Darth Wetmore is my father!!!
Oh, I get why you are being a douche! Sorry I called it a "letter" when I meant article. My sincere apologies. Man, you are an asshole. You knew what I meant, you are just too stupid to ask! My oh my you are a moron. Ha ha ha!

Well what may not be widely known is that McCarthy is a noted Lydiard guy and thus an obvious supporter of Wetmore.
The logic here just isn't right. Glenn is also one of the most knowledgeable, honest, and successful people to have ever posted here and I'll take his word over any other...
Which isn't to say that the injury question isn't valid. After reading rwtbuffaloes it seems like who wouldn't be injured at one point or another. But look what the program was like before him and where it is now. The results are inarguable.

D'oh!
McCliman was a better coach than all the coaches.

How often does the vitriol actually even come close to affecting anyone in the real world. When it's the incestuous running community, however, what people say on here can very easily begin affecting people opinions, attitudes and rumors. The president of the IOC or the USA are not going to be affected by some trash spewed on here. Coaches at American colleges, however, are not beyond the sphere of influence here.
I was commenting more on how you wrote, "...you could be traced by your IP's and sued for libel and slander..."
Ok, so an anonymous poster on letsrun.com writes, "Wetmore sucks at coaching and can't recruit."
What steps do you then think will be taken to find out who wrote that and sue them?
"Excuse me your honor. I have taken offense to something that 'ripping farts' wrote on an internet forum about my coaching abilities. I would like to ascertain his identify and sue him for slander."
Sorry, I hate to squeeze one out with glee as I read your post. It kind of stinks in here now. At any rate, do you not think airing out all the details of these people's relationships is not potentially libelous?
I also came away with thinking Johnson is a freak of a coach ... guys running in bathroom slippers and stuff. He's a typical American coach: over-thinking everything, while believing it's the way to go.
I have no grudge against Johnson or Wetmore either, I just thought after reading that Running Times article, Johnson was a bizarre coach, whose methods won't work.

No I do not. But even if I did, nothing in this thread would make it to a court room, and that's what really matters.
Uncountable libelous things are written every day on the internet. There's a reason why a minor one like talking smack about an ex-assistant track coach doesn't gain traction. If it did, the courts would be bombarded with millions of trivial lawsuits.
If someone threatened his life, that's another thing. But saying someone sucks at coaching or recruiting doesn't even come close to libel or slander.
What am I missing????? CU is one the best running programs of all time (men and women) and Wetmore is one major reason why it is! I use to watch coach Jan with great enthusiasm and couldn't wait for him and Sara (runnerspace) sharing training secrets each week. I loved it! I have met coach Wetmore couple times (just pictures) and admire the job he was hire to do at CU. Seems to me he has had great success! But after reading all these posts and Jay's article, I may never want to associate (watch or read his articles) with Jay's training again. Let me get this straight, So CU recuits Jay as kid, he runs on the champion team coached by Wetmore, Jay continues running and coaching after college, coach Wetmore gives Jay opportunity to be part of the team again then decides make another coaching change by letting him go. Sounds to me coach Wetmore is a hell of guy and Jay just threw his mentor under the BUS.
I am sure there some individual exceptions on all teams throughout the country. nothing perfect...but CU is close to it as I can see!
I am not ripping farts, but if Wetmore wanted to go after someone on this post, he surely could and he'd win. When someone says I know for a fact that this runner or that runner said this or that about either coach, if it is defamatory in nature, yes, either coach could pursue it.
Why, because it's been written for the whole world to see. Then the moderators would also bear some responsibility for not removing posts that they cannot deny seeing.....Hottest Post on Letsrun. No, they wouldn't be sued, but the website would be.
Go ahead and laugh, but you are unequivocally wrong. Going after someone is up to the individual, not you.
My occupation: Guess?
p.s. It happens more than you realize.
He would not win anything. It's hard to libel someone on the internet, and it's even harder to libel someone who is famous - I think Wetmore is famous enough, at least in our sport. But you assmaster lawyers can twist enough ballsacks that the law doesn't really matter anyway. Don't sue me for saying that, please, mr "I'm a lawyer". What are you, Star Jones?
I think Mr. Siemers would be the first in line to sue some of these bozos.
-Goucher basically said he wouldn't come to CU unless Wetmore was the coach. So if someone could show me where a top notch recruit said "I'm not coming to CU unless JJ is there," I'd like to see it.
-Mark has been dating Heather for over 10 years, every runner in Boulder knows that. It's not like they flaunt it, so it really shouldn't be that awkward.
- Mark runs people into the ground. Some become great runners, some flame out. Get over it.
-Jason Drake had a hand in bringing in all that talent in the late 90's, but the athletes came because of Mark.
- When Jay left, how many of those stud recruits he brought in left with him?

Not if they are correct.
